#2 Sabrina Lloyd (E1)Average Placement: 3.4 Lowest Placement: 6 Highest Placement: 1 Sorry for the long delay, I had a ton of work to do in the last couple of weeks and no time to get to finishing the rankdown. But here is #2. To be honest, I never really saw the first Endurance season, but what I do know is that Sabrina was one of the main characters, influencing the game early on, by having Layla pick the Orange team IIRC. The Yellow team was one of the top teams of the entire game, never having gone to the Temple of Fate, like Purple in High Sierras, but Yellow ended up losing the game. To be honest, I would have ranked her a lot lower, but she did have quite a bit of impact on the game. I heard that she ended up hating her time on Endurance though.

tony2012: Actually, I think you meant the Blue Team with who has never gone to the Temple of Fate before the finale. Yellow actually went up twice. While you wanted to place her lower, I think she deserves her place (and personally, #1). You know someone is going to be controversial when their intro features them wanting to find someone like them so they could manipulate everyone to win. Sabrina did the most to influence her individual season; while the Blue Team dominated in mission wins, Sabrina managed to manipulate people, especially Aaron, to get her way. She wasn't the most likable contestant, as she thought of betraying her alliance with the Red Team, but she sets the standards for what good villains are. Not only on Endurance, but also potentially on reality television. As for her not liking her portrayal on Endurance, not surprising. So therefore, the #1 contestant represents a triumph of good over evil...

Alright, sorry for the delay... I have been super busy! But without further ado... #1 - MONROE GIERL, ENDURANCE: HAWAII I mean, I don't even know what to say about Monroe. Without a doubt, he is THE most iconic Endurance player and in my opinion one of the most iconic reality TV characters in history. He had everything you could ever want in a reality TV persona - sassy, funny, relatable, a great underdog. He showed humor, strength, perseverance, teamwork, friendship, loyalty and never wavered from his friends. In fact, I would venture to say that Monroe characterized all the pieces of the Endurance pyramid, perhaps with the important exception of Luck. Monroe came into the game a super fan and it was touching watching his reaction to making it on the show. I always loved when super fans made it on because in a way that was like watching someone like yourself or someone like your Endurance friends make it on the show. It made it so real. Right away, he is pegged for an underdog just due to his nerdy appearance and effeminate mannerisms. It's clear in the first episode or two that no one thinks Monroe has what it takes to go far. But he shows time and time again that he does. From his RTS performance, to winning with the Samadhi, to beasting Out On A Limb, Monroe was continuously proving people wrong. No matter HOW MANY TIMES they got beat down (3 Samadhis, pieces taken away, 3 trips to Temple) he did not give up. He kept fighting for himself and for Bryanah. Monroe was also so loyal to his friends. First he had Taylor's back when he was angry that Tom didn't choose her and though he only knew her for a day they obviously had a strong bond as he was bawling when she left. Then Yellow and Green become good friends and are sadly sent to Temple together. Again, Monroe was highly upset at this, as anyone should be. But even though they lost their best friends, Monroe still wore a green bandana around his wrist for the rest of the season. Monroe speaks honestly about the way that Yellow team was treated by the teams in charge. He wasn't afraid to challenge the PROG alliance when they needed to have their egos taken down a notch (also, he threw water on Chris and Reece's beds. iconic!) At the end of the day, Monroe ultimately represents exactly what Endurance was about. He defied all expectations and became a fan favorite. His quotes and memorable moments are too numerous to count. He showed everybody across the country that first impressions don't mean everything and not to judge a book by its cover. I almost feel like I can't do him enough justice in a simple write up, but Monroe is certainly the most iconic Endurance player and rightfully deserves all the praise for bravely going on a reality TV show as a young teenager and entertaining and teaching the whole country just by being himself.

Still not over the fact that Darci was ROBBED

Still not over the fact that Darci was ROBBED Hmm, in what ways? I loved Darci, but I haven't seen the ways in which she influenced the game. I think you meant how her strategy at Temple hastened her downfall? It's been a while since Bryan wrote up his write-up for Monroe, but I think he is deserving of the #1 spot! He's the most quotable, most remembered, most amazing contestant on there. The fact he was a superfan prior to getting on endeared us to him even more, especially with his reaction to getting cast. More notable still, is how the #2 and #3 spots were occupied by the two most polarizing contestants on Endurance. For contestants who should've made it further than they did, Vanetta probably deserves so, despite being the butt of our jokes. Her decision to give the power back to Orange in "Squaring Off" definitely shifted the game. Connor (E5) deserves an extra nudge or two, and Dakota should've placed higher than #10. Kelsey and Michelle could've switched places...? It's a lot easier, however, to determine which contestants should've been eliminated earlier: Ben and Jordyn for sure, because they were mere blips on E6. I'm not sure how deserving Taylor (E5) was of her top five place, despite being one of my favorite contestants on the show. And I think Layla should've been eliminated sooner...not that I don't like her, but her influence was only shown when she paired Christian with Ashley; even then, it was because of Sabrina's manipulation.

I think her role was very pivotal although she didn't change the course of the game, she has the strongest character arc and presence I've ever seen for being eliminated so quickly into the game. She received the RTS pass and showed her loving personality though comforting Kelsey. She barely beat out Anna and Garrett to secure a spot as the Grey team. She stayed positive even with the most hated contestant, Ike, has her partner and remained positive to support Ike in the Walk The Plank mission She was only there for so little time and was part of so many significant events that E5 possessed. Also, her temple strategy being revealed and it working for Yellow to return inspired the Orange team to try and do the same thing with Blue, although they failed.

Connor (E5) deserves an extra nudge or two This is obviously the one I'm most upset about lol. I know I'm biased because he's my favorite contestant, but even objectively I think he deserves top 10-15 for sure. I actually think we booted Vanetta at the proper time! She may have made a decision or two that affected the game, but that to me doesn't denote a good player. I still stand by the idea that she just... didn't do much. I also don't feel like Max and Jenna should be so far apart? Jenna is like 22 pegs behind Max... But either way haha, I think it's a good list overall! Especially for having been such a collaborative effort

I agree!! I think that Jenna was a better player than Max. I think her ranking has moreso to do with the fact that we only had 2 chances to save players. And we all only used one...by the time we started utilizing them, it was in the top 40, so the opportunities were limited. And as for @firetruck421 and how Green used Connor's strategy, I didn't notice that!

@firetruck421: I think I could speak for most of us here when I say Lilly was one of my favorite contestants that season. From the RTS, where she was the first to make it back to shore without falling once, to her general good nature, she represented a lot. And that's where the story stops here, because even after the partner selection, where she could've easily beat Dakota and changed the entire teams, she was more of a background character with a lot of potential. Even when she showed her skills during missions, they were futile, especially after Yellow returned to Temple in "Walk the Plank". So basically, Lilly made a huge impact in how we perceived her; in the game herself, we only saw potential. IF only the Green/Yellow/Blue superteam won the mission! ahhh wow, I just finally managed to sign in again to this board and I'm seeing notifications from four years ago! Thank you so much!
