#6: Bryanah Bascon (Endurance: Hawaii)Average Placement: 6.6 | Lowest Placement: 13 | Highest Placement: 3 Sorry for taking so long guys! It's been a wild week for me. And truth be told, I wanted to wait until I watched a little more of Endurance: Hawaii before I made this cut Right off the bat, Bryanah was memorable for "drinking" a raw egg in her audition tape - and then being caught by JD! Very quickly in the season, Bryanah made herself a target by the "popular girls" simply by hanging out with the guys a lot, especially Chris and Reece. This rivalry would bleed into the rest of the season, but not before perhaps one of the most iconic partner missions ever... We all know what happened - Bryanah grabs onto the ball, Lindi takes it, and then bumps Bryanah from her desired partner Chris. Bryanah, left with no other choice, has to go with Monroe... and if looks could kill! Everyone counts the Yellow team out right away as Bryanah laments the loss of her beloved Chris. But Yellow proved they weren't weak. Despite seeming like the total opposite of Monroe, Bryanah learned to work with him and form a strong friendship and they soon began winning missions like Bagging On You (with a Samadhi!) and Out On A Limb. But Yellow team's early victories led to a lot of defeats midway through the game. They went up to Temple with Green (and Bree's best friend Alex), had their pieces stolen, and then went up to Temple with Brown (and Bree's crush Tom). Then they earn 2 pieces in one day - then they receive the Samadhi - then they make an alliance with their worst enemies - then their worst enemies win and actually stick to the alliance - then they go to Temple and unfortunately meet their fate. The point is, Yellow had such a roller coaster of a ride and they were undoubtedly the stars of the season. As for Bryanah herself, you can't help but like her. Maybe it's a trick of the editing, but I don't think anyone could really see why Lindi/Sarah/Nicole ganged up on her. Sure, Bryanah was known for liking to hang out with the guys but she was also portrayed as a very kind and loyal individual. What was especially really great about Bryanah was the way she came around to Monroe. The way she reacted to him in that partner mission was unrivaled, but at the end of the day they found a ton of common ground between them and ended up having some of the best teamwork out of anyone there, and that's what Endurance is all about. She stuck true to her friends and stayed loyal. And one thing that I always admired about Bryanah was how unbothered she was by the other girls hating on her. She didn't give into the peer pressure to fit in, but she just stayed true to herself and her friends. And she really embodied the perseverance necessary for the game. Yellow kept getting beat down over and over with Samadhis, Temples with their best friends, getting their pieces stolen... but Bryanah never let it get her down, she just kept trying and stuck it out for her and Monroe. Overall Bryanah really did embody what Endurance was all about. She had the heart, determination, and perseverance to make it through all the challenges Hawaii could throw at her (except a third Temple trip). You could tell that she stayed true to herself and really grew and learned from the experience and left a better person. Also she and Monroe are still friends, which just makes me so happy.

This is brilliant, I didn't realize that the endurance community was somewhat alive still. We should do this again, or design something different that doesn't involve a ton of time commitment. Btw, I don't know if Monroe should win, but I feel like he is totally going to lol...
I'm assuming this is years too late to join in the rotation? I'd have an interesting lifesaver to use^_^.

I've actually been following this rankdown since they were still one or two rotations into cutting RTS eliminees. I just never made an account until recently!

@firetruck421: I'm actually quite surprised we carried her so far as well! However, reading your description, I could understand why.
I personally connected to Taylor, and to a certain extent like her, because of her persistence. For me, I thought more things happened to her than she made things happen, partially because we saw her cry a lot. That made the fanbase turn for or against her, but I feel for her and wanted her to do well.
Also, loved this description:
"Taylor could arguably be the best Endurance player EVER. Survived the RTS (she was the second one to complete after Lilly), won the 1st Endurance Mission, turned a Betrayal into a Benefit, won two more Endurance Missions, was handed piece after piece after piece, survived the Temple of Fate THREE TIMES, and in the end left at the highest point of her game."
But who was better, her or Bryanah?

#4 - Jonna Mannion, Endurance 1 Average Placement: 5.8 Lowest Placement: 9 Highest Placement: 3
Our last Endurance Champion on this rankdown and my last write-up for the game, but Jonna is a special one on E1 and has a lot of influence. (I hope I could do her justice...)
First of all, she took the initiative to make a list of partners when everybody was quarreling over it early on. Especially at 13 years old, that has to mean something on the first season of the show, where there are basically no expectations. With the exception of a few, Jonna partnered up quite a few members based off of it; ironically, one member who was against the list (Aaron) ended up partnered with her!
But as it turns out, this turned up to be a match made out of heaven: they've won six missions, one even with the Samadhi on their hands. If Aaron did well with the strength games, Jonna was great with the brain games; in "Dial In", she recognized the puzzle had to be in the form of a question, handing them the win.
However, what was bigger than her head was her heart and determination, along with her sense on what she thinks is right. Jonna did cry in "Knotted Up" because she had a hard time after sending up Green and Gray up to the Temple of Fate. Later on, Sabrina and Lana bullied her after Blue sent the both of them and sent her to tears. But two episodes earlier, she showed she had the upper ground: when Lana suggested that Jonna send up Yellow to the Temple of Fate, she refused, saying "those are [Yellow's] morals, but I don't break promises and I don't lie". Especially compared to Sabrina, she played a more integrity-filled game and managed to remain moral in where somebody else would betray their allies.
Spunky, spirited, and ready to tear down the competition, she's actually one of the very few Endurance contestants who appeared on other reality TV shows, mostly on MTV.

"Spunky, spirited, and ready to tear down the competition" describes Jonna perfectly! That was a great post. I know Jonna better from her MTV shows (I've seen all of them), but she'll always have a place in my heart from her Endurance days.

#3: Nicole Clark (Endurance: Hawaii)Average Placement: 5.6 | Lowest Placement: 14 | Highest Placement: 1Ahh, Nicole... whether you love the drama she brought to the season or hate the catty & vindictive way she behaved, everyone who has watched E3 is pretty much unified in one thing: she was crazy! Nicole is, without a doubt, one of the most memorable "villains" to ever be on Endurance, which is why I believe her high ranking is justified. Right off the bat Nicole warns us that people get a bad first impression of her, that she is perceived as "conceited"; a claim which is proven to be accurate in a short amount of time. She makes fast friends with Lindi and Sarah but immediately dislikes Bryanah for hanging out with the guys, slinging accusations of the latter being "mean and vindictive" - though, from a viewer's perspective, it seems obvious that Nicole is only describing herself. It is debatable whether Nicole is a strategist or not, but in my personal opinion, for the most part, she made friends with people who happened to make up the strong teams and targeted the ones she didn't like/wasn't close with. But I do give her major respect points for actually making me root for Orange in the Final Four, where she made her most notable strategic move by teaming up with Yellow so that they could send Gray & Purple to the Temple of Fate. It was actually pretty epic to see her turn against her friends for one round, even if it didn't last beyond that. Nicole was very driven by her desire to win and would resort to saying anything to anyone if it would increase her chances of not going home, like when she tried to convince her sworn enemy Bryanah that she "only wanted to be friends". Her teammate, Demian, was horrified at Nicole's vicious ways and thoroughly regretted choosing her for his partner - so much that, towards the end of the competition, he didn't even want to win anymore because he felt that Nicole didn't deserve it. He was the heart of the Orange team and Nicole was Evil Queen Bee of camp, which resulted in what was probably the most iconic season-long feud between partners that Endurance ever saw. All in all, Nicole is very polarizing when it comes to how the audience feels about her gameplay; but one thing is for certain, she is definitely and inarguably unforgettable.

kwdrewfan: Nicole may not be one of my favorite contestants (in fact, she ends up pretty low on my favorites), but your write up was really good! I think I may need to rewatch E3 though, because my impression was Nicole was quite crazy.

Great write up. What impressed me about Nicole was her boldness. Not many 14 year olds can go on national television and act the way she did.

Just a note about how the final 2 is gonna work: I'm gonna PM Tony who got 2nd place and then he will do his write up on that person. Obviously, we will then know who is number 1 in the rankdown. Immediately following his post, then we can ALL do a writeup on the number one person.
