#14: Chris Vandeweir (Endurance: Hawaii)
Average Placement: 11.4 Lowest Placement: 16 Highest Placement: 8
Oh Chris. When I've eliminated him, he was known for being Bryanah's ideal partner and Lindi's actual partner. That was the most significant moments on Endurance History, further entrenched by how Chris gave away the number one ball to Demian so to ensue that deception. In addition, we see him a strong contestant who worked well with Lindi, along with a good friend to Reece on the Purple Team. What does him in now is that he didn't have that strong of a personality in comparison to the rest of the contestants; he was just a "relatively" good guy on a good team. Then again, I wonder how he's viewed today; once, everybody liked him, now the Gray Team has a more polarized reception. Attachments:

I definitely think as time's gone by people have realized Gray team's deception! I never really liked them, but I can't deny they played a great game. But everyone used to loooove them, lol. All the girls watching E3 were rooting for Gray and Purple

#13: Jonathan Lebowitz (Endurance: Tehachapi)Average Placement: 11.2 | Lowest Placement: 16 | Highest Placement: 7 Jonathan, Jonathan! Part of what makes him such a fondly-remembered player is what an underdog he is; one of the smallest boys in the competition, yet miraculously hung in there till the end in many of the physical challenges, in addition to already being a mental beast. He created and maintained some very strong friendships, and in fact I would say out of all the seasons of Endurance he's one of the ones who valued those friendships the most. Loyalty is everything to him - there is no way he would ever stab a friend in the back for the sake of gameplay. His partnership with Daniela had its ups and downs (especially at the beginning), but at the end of the day, you know they were extremely grateful to have each other as partners as they respected each other and always communicated well. Jonathan is a surprisingly strong player with great mental strength and an even stronger loyalty to those he calls his closest friends.

That's a good writeup kwdrewfan! I knew Jonathan was especially loyal to his friends; if you watched "Cubed", I remember how Jonathan and Daniela were arguing about whether to send Green up to the Temple of Fate, and then he went "Green Team...will not be going to Temple." That is seriously indicative on what he valued on E4. I honestly thought he did have a huge presence on E4; however, what I didn't see was the strategic influence he put in. I'm not sure about the rest of you, but to what extent did we choose them? I personally see how they influenced the game; for some later on, there will be people that had things happen to them, rather than the other way around. It would be interesting to know when we get to the end.

#12 Lindi Oest (Endurance: Hawaii) Average Placement: 11 Lowest Placement: 13 Highest Placement: 7 I remember Lindi having a pretty significant impact early on in the partner challenge. She outhustled Bryanah for one of the early balls, and ended up bumping her out in order to take Chris as her partner. This challenge ended up having a residual effect on the season in a big way. Early on, it looked as if the Gray team would continue to be cursed, but surprisingly were not sent to the ToF, as Lindi feared would happen. This opened the door for one of the top early alliances of Endurance (Gray, Purple, Orange and to a lesser extent, Red). She helped form one half of the "team of destiny" of Endurance, helping Gray winning challenges and racking up pyramid pieces. Next to Brown of E2, Gray was nearly unstoppable and rolled to an easy win over Orange in the finals.

I find this ranking curious. With bumping Bryanah for Chris, it definitely shifted the course of the game, and almost formed the primary rivalries of the season. I wonder about Lindi herself; another person on the board said she was a bit "overrated". At the same time, she was more than a capable teammate and a loyal alliance member. Maybe the lack of character development?

Maybe the lack of character development? I would definitely say it's the lack of character development - or, to be honest, lack of character. Respect points because obviously she's a beast at the game and did stay loyal to her alliance, but on a personal level she was stagnant for the entire competition. Very predictable; she always did exactly what I expected her to do and, on her own, never did anything remarkable post-partner selection (that I can recall, at least).

I do think that Lindi was a very good Endurance player, obviously a social and physical beast and deserves to make it this far in the rankdown, but I agree that I don't really know much about Lindi as a person from the show. She wasn't as vibrant of a character as other people, especially in a season full of vibrant characters.

#11: Daniela Bustamante (Endurance: Tehachapi)Average Placement: 11* | Lowest Placement: 16 | Highest Placement: 1 I actually did a nice write up of Daniela when I used my lifesaver on her! Here's what I said: Okay the reason I lifesaver'd Daniela is because I feel like she is truly one of the iconic Endurance players. As you pointed out she had a couple story lines but not as much as other people. However the reason I think she should go further is because of the character she played and story arc she got. I feel like she really encompassed what Endurance was all about and she made a connection with the viewers. She was, in a way, one of us in the fact that she was a superfan who got her dream to go on the show. She didn't receive the partner she wanted, but she made up for it with the way she worked with Jonathan so well throughout the entire competition and showing off her perseverance. She had the quirkiest mannerisms and speech ("like" every 3 words) but it didn't get that annoying because at the end of the day, everyone couldn't help but root for Daniela and the purple team. Overall despite the fact that she didn't get many story lines per se, I feel like E4 would have been really different if she wasn't there. And I think that's honestly a very accurate depiction of her. Purple E4 is one of my all-time favorite Endurance teams. Despite not being on the most exciting season, they were still both amazing people who made connections to the audience just by being themselves. Daniela was never the strongest or most athletic but she had a lot of heart and determination and she made things work in the end. However, she was also friendly and compassionate. I just love Purple's story arc so much. After the partner mission everyone was basically counting them out because Daniela was so upset over not getting Michael and everyone thought they were a weak team and both players wouldn't stand a chance, but they start off by winning Raft Pull and the rest is history (including finishing that puzzle mission before Red could even start!). Don't get me wrong, I love Red E4 too, but Purple was who I was rooting for in that finale! *Though Daniela and Lindi had the same average placement, I put Daniela higher than Lindi because she had a higher 'highest placement' than Lindi.

Good write up; what really intrigued me is the difference between the lowest-placed ranking and the highest. This is what I'm talking about when I was referring to how we rank the characters.
Let's just say I liked Daniela and her development, but I <3 Erika's more haha.

#9: Jeszie Geronimo (Endurance: Tehachapi)Average Placement: 8.6 Lowest Placement: 14 Highest Placement: 4
In my opinion, I thought Jeszie was quite an interesting contestant; she worked really well with Isaac in challenges and was a high profile contestant on E4, due to her spunky personality. She was also good friends with Erika, and somewhat wanted Blue gone, which provided a clash in Hang 5 when the Green Team had to decide to give the Samadhi to one team. It was notable for that; and we also got to see another side of Jeszie when she was upset on how everybody was crying and was unsure about whom to give the Samadhi to. Nevertheless, I could see Jeszie's loyalty throughout the entire season; when I was trying to find a good screencap of her in "Fireball", she called out on Michael for being a "rat". Whether that was accurate or not, I have to make sure, but Jeszie, like Isaac, always stood up to her friends. What I didn't see from her is any strategic moves which would've pushed on them, however.
At the same time, the passion/aggressiveness of how she went out of her way to defend her friends also made her one of the most polarizing contestants in a season where the contestants are mostly chill. Whether we took her side in the Green Team's debate is questionable, but her vigor was what made her special.

#8: Max DeLeo (Endurance 2) Average Placement: 8.4 | Lowest Placement: 16 | Highest Placement: 6
Max is a very well-known player in the Endurance world because not only is he an Endurance champion, but he & his partner Jenna are the only players that have ever competed on two different seasons of the show. As for Max's personal gameplay, he tended to be a bit of a weasel as he would do any amount of scurrying around or be willing stoop to anything in order to keep his team safe - this, I think, makes him fairly polarizing as far as the audience's response. I regard him as a legendary player (when I think of famous Endurance players he is one of the first 5 or so that come to mind), but there's a certain bitterness to the way he played and reacted to the game which I can understand would rub people the wrong way. He is, I would say more than any other contestant, a "wheeler-dealer" when it comes to making promises that he may or may not follow through with. Again, anything to keep himself safe for one more round - damage control was never a concern for Max. This strategy would get the Brown team into hot water from time to time, but ultimately his cunning ways, strong friendships, strength in challenges and A+ teamwork with Jenna helped them make it all the way to the end and be crowned Endurance 2 Champions.

#7 Erica Cook (Endurance: Tehachapi) Average Placement: 8.0 Lowest Placement: 11 Highest Placement: 2 Erika Cook, in my opinion, is one of the strongest players to play the game of Endurance. She (not that Franke didn't do anything, and he helped as well), put the team on her back and led them to victory. She was part of an alliance with Green and Yellow, and to a lesser extent, Purple. Behind Yellow, this team was one of my favorite Endurance teams of all time. Imagine if Chris had picked Erika...but that's a story for another day. She lasted for 28+ minutes in the balance challenge that would determine the superteams (I remember her talking about surfboards during the entire round) and held on the longest in the final temple mission. She is also one of my favorite Endurance players of all time.
