Soooo starting Raleigh today! -YAAAAY THE CASTING EPISODE MAKES A RETURN! -There really is a big lack of diversity within the entire Serious series... only like 3/16 semifinalists were POC -All the semifinalists CRUSHED that casting weekend. One of the strongest groups from any season. -will look up the cast members' last names later on  but this cast looks very strong!! Thanks so much, your detective skills must be amazing. I tried to find the names and didn't get very far at all!
Also, did we ever find out Cally's full name from Serious Amazon? I put together a list and hers is the only name that we don't know out of all the seasons of Serious.

It's not too hard if you know where to look! Hehe. I have not been able to find Cally and I'm upset about it because I loved her! I'm going to do a little bit more stalking to see if I can connect some dots... I’m pretty sure she doesn’t have a Facebook, or if she does then she’s not connected with anyone from Serious. Add in the fact that Cally is possibly a nickname and it’s pretty difficult to find her without just reaching out to someone and asking. EDIT: Been trying for an hour and still no sign of Cally  I did find that Sam from Amazon’s name is Samuel Barnfather (I guess Allan is his middle name) |

Ahh, cool info about Sam, kinda sucks not being able to find Cally, but it makes sense, with it likely being a nickname. Also, I wasn't able to find the ages of anyone on Livingstone, mainly because my only source of info is Wikipedia ahahaha. Have you been able to find their ages?

I don't know their ages, and after watching the first episode of that season it seems that they didn't say them. The editing of that whole season seemed to be (understandably) rushed...

About midway through Raleigh. Whew, Nikita... she's really giving Sarah from Andes a run for most badly behaved Serious contestant ever... like it's BAD. Also, take a look at her old Twitter account from when she was like 16-17. Yikes. twitter.com/kitaa_mc?lang=enSammie also has NOT been impressing me. She and Nikita just whine and complain so much. You knew what you were signing up for... Megan is great, though. And I think Chanelle would've been more like Megan had she stayed. It was really upsetting seeing her leave because I felt like she really deserved the experience. As far as the guys, Michael is impressing me a LOT. Jake is good too, especially for a 12 year old, except when he's harassing Nikita. Josh is funny but not too relevant. But my favorite is Regan! I really love him on the show and I relate to his enthusiasm for wildlife. |

A couple more episodes later, I'm going to update my statement and say that Nikita is THE worst behaved Serious contestant of all time. And beating Sarah from Andes is a difficult feat... They are both pretty insufferable, but if I remember rightly, I think Nikita improves towards the end of the season. I could be wrong tho, so don't hold me to it

I will give Nikita her props that she did have nerves of steel. She wasn't afraid of extreme things, just complained about the actual expedition and argued a lot.
Just finished Raleigh and, wow, I really loved it! I think Regan is right up with Promise as one of my all-time favorite Serious explorers (Megan and Michael were great, too). And I was so proud of Sammie at the end for conquering her fears.
My ranking of the seasons:
1. Desert
2. ...Dare I say it, Raleigh?
3. Amazon/Ocean
4. Jungle
5. Andes
6. Livingstone
7. Arctic
Idk, I'd say Raleigh/Amazon/Ocean are rather interchangeable for me. But, wow, what a way to end the series! I really thoroughly enjoyed that season and I'm sad they stopped making them. However, I feel the logistics just got too much. On Livingstone, you had a guide killed, and on Raleigh, you had a cast member have to leave due to a medical issue... They just had a lot of bad luck in the last few seasons, they probably said it's too much of a liability. But the Serious expeditions were crazy. I mean, they were just the real deal and really tough and backbreaking, but rewarding. It's such a once in a lifetime opportunity.
I'm mad they never had an American version!! Lol. @ producers, come to America and make a version for adults!

My rating of the Serious series would be 1. Desert (lots done, great chemistry in the team) 2. Andes (despite the whole Sarah ordeal I really enjoyed the series and I feel like they got a lot done) 3. Raleigh (there was decent chemistry and they achieved a lot) 4. Amazon (decent chemistry through most of the team and they achieved heaps) 5. Livingstone (good chemistry with a lot achieved despite the abrupt end to the series) 6. Ocean (heaps achieved, but the chemistry seemed to be lacking a bit more for me) 7. Jungle (iconic, they did a lot, but there was a little too much focus on the drama during the expedition eps, probs cause there were no Diaries) 8. Arctic (the chemistry was really lacking and through no fault of their own, they couldn't get much done, and the wildlife focused aspect disappeared because of the blizzard that blew through and there seemed to be a lot of rifts in the team) Raleigh, Amazon, Livingstone and Ocean are all on around the same level, just in that order for ranking purposes. I feel like in most of the teams there happens to be one person who sticks out as having major conflict, or doesn't really fit in or whatever, although the leaders did a good job of smoothing things out most of the time, or at least ensuring that everyone remained civil. I reckon that its 1. Jungle - Daniel, maybe 2. Desert - Chris (at least until he started pulling his weight) 3. Arctic - Jennielyn (although the chemistry on that one was questionable, there just always seemed to be arguments) 4. Amazon - Jamie 5. Andes - Caitlin (she kept being ostracised because of the way that Sarah particularly treated her) 6. Ocean - Sybil 7. Livingstone - I genuinely am not sure. I haven't watched it again in about 2 years, but I'm struggling to remember any major arguments breaking out. 8. Raleigh - Nikita (despite the fact that she gets on with Sammie, she just argues too much with everyone else) That's just what I think. I love being able to discuss it on here. I'm from Aus, where practically no one has heard of it. Also, I've compiled a playlist of all the episodes that are available on YouTube, all provided by Jason Mistretta. They showed Livingstone and Raleigh on the Aus equivalent of CBBC and after seeing those two I decided I wanted to track down all the series, but the youtube eps only became available at some point last year. I had previously just resigned myself to never watching them, but youtube came along and fixed that up.

I've been sitting back watching you on your quest to find Cally for weeks now feeling so guilty. I'm pretty sure I found her several weeks ago via Sam's Instagram.
Cally is a common nickname for Caroline.
Cally is now Carrie Malloy. Easy to find on Facebook too.

I’m not ~totally~ convinced that Carrie Malloy is Cally? She doesn’t seem to be in contact with anyone else from Serious. Though Cally and Sam did seem especially close, even Jamie is friends with/follows several people from the show...
I need to rewatch an episode of that season to compare facial features...

I had a look at the Carrie Malloy that Sam is friends with on Instagram and I'm also not totally convinced that she is Cally, but then I'm entirely unsure of who she could be.
