I personally think it would be cool if they did a “world tour” type thing where they could go back and revisit each location that Serious visited.

What if Serious did a all-star season? Like the viewers got to vote each week on their fav explorers from each season, and then the top two explorers from each season get to go a another expedition? Who would you want on this all-star season? What would the location be? My picks: Jungle: Hannah (for the drama) and Larry or Daniel Desert: Promise and David Arctic: Matt and... none of the girls tbh... okay Alex maybe? Amazon: Cally and Sam although the entire caste would be great Andes: Matt and Erin |

So, obviously I loved Serious as an adolescent and I've enjoyed rewatching the seasons that I used to watch back then. But I wondered, is Serious actually a good show, or do I just have nostalgia goggles on? If I watched one of the seasons I haven't seen, would I enjoy it? Would I stay interested? So, I watched Serious Ocean for the first time. And the verdict...
I LOVED IT! It reinforced that Serious is a really solid TV show. Honestly, the Ocean concept sounded boring to me at first... they're on a boat, what can they do? But truth be told, this expedition was almost the most adventurous I've seen of them all. They sailed around freaking Cape Horn! That's crazy. And they did SO MANY things. The format of Ocean was 10 episodes full of material, rather than 6 episodes and 4-5 "diaries" episodes. And I preferred that because you could easily follow the narrative. And they definitely needed 10 episodes because they did so many things... elephant seals, fur seals, albatrosses, penguins, camping on a glacier, dolphins, leopard seals, sailing lessons, kayaking, beavers... God I know I'm missing several things because they accomplished a LOT. Every episode kept my intrigued because they kept traveling on to a new location and had a completely new task. And they were pretty successful at almost every single one I think.
The cast was definitely interesting. If I had to pick my MVPs, it would be either Callum or David for the boys, and Robyn for the girls. I said I liked Sybil earlier in the thread, but after episode 2 I definitely started to sour on her. She had a bad attitude, was unnecessarily confrontational, and didn't really seem to try (much like Sarah from Andes... but Sybil was not as bad as Sarah I'd say). But, it was nice to see her at the end get it together, learn, and really grow as a person and as a teammate. (Although I will say, there was a girl named Krystal briefly shown in the casting episode and from what I saw of her and Sybil I would've chosen her!) Charlotte was fun as well. I was surprised Harry got on. I figure they always pick a "weaker" cast member to see if they can push themselves and Harry definitely rose to the task! David was so fun. Despite horrible seasickness and feeling left out, he was always cracking jokes and having a good time. Katie and Conor were super irrelevant ngl.
But anyway, overall it was a really good season. I'd rank it above Andes even. My personal ranking looks something like this:
-Desert
-Amazon
-Jungle / Ocean
-Andes
-Arctic
Excited to watch the other 2 seasons now.

I just started Serious Livingstone... this is the series I’m worried about because it’s where the tragedy occurred.
First things first, they really... cut the whole casting episode out. Lol cut it from a whole episode to 30 seconds. I kinda liked the casting episodes...
I just realized the cast isn’t listed on Wikipedia.
Abbey was cast, but had to get emergency tonsil surgery shortly before the trip so there was only 7 cast members

Ali, David, James, Matt
Why is Serious obsessed with casting a Matt on every season?! Lmao

Serious is a good show; but the first season disappoints me.

Some of the Livingstone cast (Matt, Ashleigh, Cassie, David) had a 2017 reunion! This is awesome to see because it doesn’t seem like the Serious casts really stay in touch too much, which is weird to me because I feel like that’s an experience that would absolutely bond people for life. I’m almost done with the Livingstone season and will give my thoughts on it when I finish.  |

So, finally finished the last episode of Livingstone after a Karma-filled weekend.
I thought they handled the guide’s death very well and in a very respectful way. It’s a shame the expedition had to be called off but it was 100% the right thing to do. And those kids who went on the mountain trek should be very proud of themselves... basically 100 miles through nearly uncharted mountains? That’s insane. They were sooo close to finishing too. Although the other group, staying behind with the Masai, wow that looked like an amazing experience as well.
Overall it was a cute little season. The cast was pretty solid, none of them were weak. I do wish it had a few more episodes but I understand why it didn’t.
I’d rank the seasons now as:
1. Desert
2. Amazon/Ocean
3. Jungle
4. Andes
5. Livingstone
6. Arctic
Only below Andes because I feel Andes has more memorable cast members. But as a whole it was on par with Andes.
Like I said, the whole cast was solid so it’s hard to pick an MVP. For the guys, probably James and maybe David. For the girls, probably Cassie and maybe Ashleigh.
