Also, doesn't this make Purple the "underdog" here--at least in terms of social strategy? With that said, it does feel right to me that E2 Purple is not an underdog, with only 2 temple trips and no samadhi (less adversity than either E2 Orange or E2 Brown faced). Though they were not in the Brown-Green-Yellow alliance, their social ability (both Jeff and Annie talking to Mike) saved them from going to temple when Orange and Red went (at least as far as the edit showed). Their social ability also may have played a role in them not getting the samadhi (Tyler throwing it out) at final 4.
Ah, that makes sense. I think it makes E2 an intriguing season--there were rivalries, but it never devolved into something pettier, like in Hawaii and High Sierras. It interests me how Purple interacts with the GYB alliance, which adds to their overall arc.

I wanted to mention this on the confessional count, but I feel like Tide Pull's provided only one side to the Annie-Calley conflict, in that Calley had three confessionals, whereas Annie had none.
Based on that (along with Calley breaking down at the Cove), I wonder if the editors meant for Calley to be seen as a victim, whereas Annie was the one acting up.
I feel like there's something missing with Annie having nothing to say this episode.

Upon this rewatch, I honestly think they played one of the best Endurance games ever. Even better than the Brown team this season. Often times Brown team's game was kind of messy, as Max would go around making deals with everyone and they all caught on. But Purple stuck to their guns, made good friends, and won when they needed to. This X100. I just really really love Jeff and Annie working together. What's also interesting is how they manage to navigate being the "outsiders", in a way. They steadily lost their allies, but managed to work with Brown and Green to maintain their place in the game. They also won two missions when they needed to (though I'm still sad for Yellow in Cherry Picker), and that really solidified how awesome of a team they were. If there was an Endurance All-Stars, they would be a welcome addition to the whole game. (as unlikely as that is on multiple fronts, haha)
