This is Chelsea from season 1 of endurance. I came across this forum while doing some searches for my brother about the show. Figured I would say hello and let you ask me some questions if you would like. I will do my best to answer them all.

Oh wow, hi Chelsea! I'm so glad you decided to drop in! I guess to start off, which missions do you remember being your favorite or least favorite to play in?

Man a lot of them were actually quite fun! I would say the mission I disliked the most was the ball drop one for choosing the teams. I was in a lot of pain because I got second degree sunburns on the tops of my legs which is why I wasn’t moving much. My favorite mission would probably be the tilt game. I preferred those types of games where it was just an endurance type of strategy. Skyler wasn’t a fan of it because it was quite a strength heavy game for him and for most of the guys actually.

OMG. This is so awesome. Chelsea you’re definitely loved by this board. So awesome to see you here.
My first question would be what are you up to now a days? It’s always interesting to see where our favorite contestants have ended up 15+ years from when we knew them.
I also want to know who you were closest to while on the show, and who did you keep in touch with after the show? Is there anyone you still keep in contact with, even if just through social media?

Hello Chelsea!
First of all, I'm happy that you are here--I consider you one of my favorite contestants throughout the series. <3 And your written work is quite good! I was wondering if you took any lessons from Endurance and applied them to your day to day life.

Well I am now a stay at home mom for the most part but I am also going to college part time to become a chemist. I kept in touch with max and Layla for a bit after the show but they got busy with their own lives and careers we fell apart. I was also definitely the closest to Layla with max and Skyler being tied for second spot. Haha I believe my mother is still good friends with Layla’s mother as they also became friends during the taping of the show.

I don’t really know if I took any lessons from endurance persay but I was always a very introverted person and as such this helped get out of my shell quicker from that point on.

Well I was originally going to become an RN and waited to take my chemistry classes required for the RN last. Well I took those 3 classes and absolutely fell in love with chemistry and learning about how things work on a molecular level. As well as the math that comes with it haha.

Sorry if I'm asking so many questions, haha, but here's another;
If you could change anything about your gameplay on Endurance, what would you do and why?

Oh you can ask as many questions as you like haha. If I was bothered by it I wouldn’t have posted I don’t think I would really change anything in regards to game play. I played the way I would and I stayed true to myself. The only thing I regret is being “injured” first thing do I wasn’t able to play to my full potential for most of the time I was there. That would be the only thing that was disappointing

I occasionally interview former contestants, so in lieu of interviewing you formally I'm just gonna post the questions here! Haha
What was the Endurance audition process like? How did you find out about the show? Were you surprised that you made it on, since you were a self-described introvert?
Was being on a televised competition more difficult or different than you expected?
How did you feel about the way you were portrayed on the show? Was it accurate or not?
Did you watch any of the seasons after yours? After being on the show, did you get any recognition from it?
Though it's been a long time since the show, are there any moments from your Endurance experience that stand out in your mind? What was your best memory or experience from the show? Do you have a worst one?

What was the Endurance audition process like? I think what you may be asking is what did we have to do or answer etc? If so then I remember they had me in an office with a video camera and asked me about my most embarrassing moment, a time when I had an argument with a friend and how I handled it. ( this question is most likely asked to see how you will conflict or mesh with the other people they have chosen.) They also asked about my family I believe but that was quite a long time ago.
How did you find out about the show? I actually didn’t know anything about it, my dad was on an auditioning kick for shows and got info about this kids show. He pulled me and my younger brother out of school to go audition for it.
Were you surprised that you made it on, since you were a self-described introvert? Actually yeah, I did the audition cause I was dragged there for the most part and just figured if any one was chosen it would be my brother cause he is way more out going then me.
Was being on a televised competition more difficult or different than you expected? It was definitely a bit different then anticipated. I always assumed that the sleeping arrangements would be way different. I thought that I would have my own room or something which obviously that was far from the case. I also thought I would still see my mom every day and go back to a hotel etc which etc as definitely not what happened.
How did you feel about the way you were portrayed on the show? Was it accurate or not? I wasn’t a major fan on how I was portrayed in certain parts, but over all I am pleased. What bothered me is I was shown as seeming aloof or uncompetitive
Did you watch any of the seasons after yours? No I did not watch any other seasons
After being on the show, did you get any recognition from it? No I didn’t seem to get recognition people in my area didn’t really watch that channel.
Though it's been a long time since the show, are there any moments from your Endurance experience that stand out in your mind? Yes, sitting on the beach and finding a surprising amount of things can be done with rocks to keep you entertained. Also the conversations that were also had. And the bison that came by one time haha.
What was your best memory or experience from the show?
I loved spending time with the crew and JD. I was taken up to their camp a few times because of my really bad burns. As well as what I stated in the previous question.
Do you have a worst one? My worst memory would have to be the sun poisoning I had. Otherwise it was all pretty fun, I stayed away from drama and back stabbing because it wasn’t something I agreed with and never have so I luckily had a lot of great experiences there.

Do you still enjoy overcast weather like you did on the show? Haha. Ooh, & after Orange team left Endurance, was there any team in particular that you were rooting for (or against) to win?

I do still love over cast weather and as such I have moved to the Pacific Northwest haha. And I was rooting for green to win and for yellow not to win because I didn’t want Sabrina’s rude and manipulative behavior to be rewarded.

Gosh this just has me so jazzed. I know you said you’re here to answer questions but I can’t help but feel bad for bombarding you LOL.
I’m curious about how contestants’ perceptions of the show have changed over time. Do you remember Endurance just as some experience you had as a kid (i.e. like a summer camp, you did it and it’s just something that you did and you don’t feel one way or another about it) or do you look back with a certain type of fondness or nostalgia? I hope that makes some sort of sense, haha.
Although it’s probably been some time since you saw Endurance, do you recall the editing of the show to be fair to the contestants? Endurance always struck me as a fairly edited show (especially one that has to condense a 3 week experience into several 30 minute episodes), but without being there and knowing the true personalities of the people at the time it’s difficult to make that assumption.
