Pokémon: The Johto Chronicles
Episode #1: A Starter Head Start!
*The sun rises over New Bark Town. A flock of Spearow fly over a house and you can see a boy sleeping in his bed through the window*
: zzzzZZZZZzzzz
*An alarm clock sounds and the boy jumps up*
: Ahhhhhh!!!!
*The boy falls out of his bed and onto the wooden floor*
Mom: Casey! Hurry up and get ready! Professor Elm is waiting for you!
Casey: Ok mom!
*It flashes and the boy is downstairs with his mother eating breakfast*
Mom: Since I won’t be seeing you for awhile, I decided to make an extra special breakfast for you. Heehee.
*Caseys mother puts down a plate full of pancakes and bacon*
Casey: Sweet! But mom…Why the sudden rush? Arnt you sad that I’m leaving?
Mom: Of course but you have to look on the bright side. By the way. I’m saving up some of your money. I don’t want to hear a word from you about it.
Casey: Fine…
*The episode flashes and Casey is walking down the road wondering to himself*
Casey: Hmmm…I wonder what starter Ill choose. I like Cyndaquil. It’s a fire type!
*Casey imagines training a Cyndiquil*
Casey: Now Cyndiquil! Flamethrower!!!
Cyndiquil: Cyndi? Quil!!!!
*The Cyndiquil shoots fire at Casey*
Casey: Ahhhhh!!!
*The imagination stops*
Casey: Ouch. What about Chikorita? Its cute and strong!
*Casey imagines having a Chikorita*
Casey: Razor Leaf!!!
*Leaves fly at Casey and the imagination stops*
Casey: Owww…Cuts. And last is Totodile. It looks pretty cool and it can become a Feraligatr!
*Casey imagines having a Totodile*
Casey: Bite Totodile!
*The Totodile clamps onto Caseys head*
Casey: Definitely not.
*Suddenly, a voice is heard from behind Casey*
: Hey Casey wait up!
: Yeah! You didn’t forget us did you?
*A boy and girl run up to Casey*
Casey: Oh hey Cody. Hey Tabby.
Tabby: Soooo? You ready to get your Pokémon?
Cody: I am! I cant wait to get me a starter! Then we’ll rule the Contest stage!
Tabby: Keep dreaming. Me and my starter will take you down and collect all of the ribbons!
*The episode flashes and the 3 kids walk into a laboratory where a young man with glasses is running around cleaning*
Elm: Gotta get this place cleaned up before the trainers arrive!!!
*Professor Elm continues to run around cleaning and then stops*
Elm: Oh…You’re here…You’re here!!!
*All of the kids looks scared*
Elm: Oh…I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to be so loud. Please follow me!
*The kids follow Elm to a table*
Elm: I’m Professor Elm. Ill be the person in charge of making sure you get your starter Pokémon!
*An assistant brings our a tray with 3 pokeballs on it*
Elm: In front of you are your 3 starter choices. Chikorita the Grass type, Cyndaquil the Fire type, and Totodile the Water type. Each of you will get to choose just one. This Pokémon will assist you on the start of your journey!
*Tabby stares at the Pokeballs and snatches one*
Tabby: I don’t care what this one is, I want it! C’mon out!!!
*Tabby throws the pokeball up and out pops a Cyndaquil*
Tabby: Awwww!!! Its so cute!
Cyndaquil: Cyndi cyn!
*Tabby picks it up and begins cuddling it*
Cody: Hmm…I want this one!
*Cody picks up a pokeball and throws it*
*A Totodile comes out*
Cody: Yes! Just what I wanted!
Casey: I guess that leaves me with Chikorita…
Tabby: What wrong Casey?
Casey: I didn’t really get to think about which of the starters I wanted.
Cody: You didn’t? We both thought about ours days ago.
Tabby: Yeah. You have to be prepared right Professor Elm?
Elm: Well not really. The world of Pokémon is different in the eyes of each trainer. You train whatever Pokémon you want and build whatever teams you want. So anything can happen.
Casey: I guess your right.
*Casey picks up the pokeball*
Casey: Come on out...Chikorita!
*Chikorita comes out of the ball*
Chikorita: Chika!!!
*Chikorita starts nudging up on Caseys leg*
Casey: Wow. It is pretty cute.
*Casey picks it up and looks at it*
Elm: I uhhh wouldn’t do that!
*Chikorita begins growling*
Casey: Why?
*Chikorita slaps Casey across the face with its leaf*
Elm: It doesn’t like being held to often.
*Casey falls on the floor*
Casey: I wish you would have told me that sooner!
*Everyone laughs and the episode flashes to the new trainers standing outside of the lab*
Elm: I guess you would want to go tell your families of the news and get going on your journey huh?
Tabby: Yeah! I’m going to tell my mom and dad!
Cody: I’m going to go tell my parents to!
Casey: I better go tell my mom. Lets meet at the exit of the town and we can go on from there.
Tabby & Cody: Right!
*All of the kids run in separate directions to their homes*
*The episode flashes and it shows Caseys house again*
*A clock inside strikes 1:00 PM*
Casey: Mom?
Mom: Oh Casey! Your back! So did you get your Pokémon?
*Chikorita walks out from behind Casey*
Chikorita: Chi!
Mom: Wow! You chose a Chikorita?
Casey: Well sort of. Cody and Tabby took the other Pokémon before I actually decided.
Mom: Its adorable.
*Caseys mom picks up Chikorita*
Casey: Mom don’t do that!
*Chikorita slaps Caseys mom with its leaf and she falls on the ground*
Mom: I wish you would have told me sooner! Ehhh.
Casey: Sorry about that *chuckle* Well anyway. I’m meeting Cody and Tabby by the entrance to New Bark Town so I better get going.
*Casey hugs his mother for a quiet second while Chikorita stares at them*
Mom: Yes. You should get going. You can stop in Cherrygrove City before it gets dark and you can stay at the Pokémon Center.
Casey: Will do.
Mom: Oh yeah! I almost forgot something!
*Mom walks into another room, Casey sees her pick something up and bring it back*
Mom: Just in case, I took your PokeGear to the shop and got it repaired. I have our phone number in it so we can keep in contact.
Casey: Thanks mom! I totally forgot about this!
Mom: Well you better get going.
Casey: Your right. C’mon Chikorita!
Chikorita: Chika!!!
*Casey and Chikorita run outside as they wave to Caseys mom*
Mom: Be safe!!!
Casey: I will!!!
*The episode fades in and out to a large dirt road. Cody and Tabitha both have new clothes and backpacks on and their new Pokémon are standing with them*
Cody: Where is he!?
Tabby: just give him one minute ok? He’ll be here.
Casey: Hey you guys!!!
*Tabby and Cody see Casey and Chikorita running towards them both looking exhausted*
Cody: Finally! We’ve been waiting here for like 5 minute! Where have you been!?
Casey: I have a mom too you know. I had to say bye to her.
Cody: Whatever. Lets get this show on the road! C’mon Totodile!
Totodile: Totitoti!
*Cody and Totodile run down the dirt road in excitement*
Tabby: Wait for me!!! Lets go Cydaquil!
Cyndaquil: Cyndi cyn!
*Tabby and Cydaquil chase after Cody*
Casey: You ready Chikorita?
*Chikorita looks nervously down the road*
Casey: Aww. Don’t worry. Were going on this journey together remember?
Chikorita: …Chika.
Casey: Lets go!
*Casey and Chikorita begin running down the road calling for Tabby and Cody as the episode pans up to the early afternoon sky*
