Endurance: Santa Barbara- Episode 11: Create Your Own Game
JD, voiceover: Last time on Endurance: Santa Barbara... The Blue & Green teams pulled together to work against the Red & Gray teams. In the Temple Mission, the Blue team kicked it into high gear and faced a very difficult decision. In the end, Blue chose winning over friendship and sent Red & Gray to the Temple. At the Temple, Gray's luck ran out and they became the 4th team eliminated from the game. Now, we're down to only 3 teams: The Red team, the Blue team & the Green team. They'll face the biggest Endurance first ever. Who has the most Ingenuity for the win? Find out as we see who possesses the greatest endurance.
*birds chirp as the camera goes to the Temple from a lakeview* 7 TEAMS *shows kids climbing a rock* 13 CHALLENGES *shows kids playing missions* 1 BEACH *shows a crow's nest view of the island* ENDURANCE: SANTA BARBARA
Team Stats: Color: Team Member: Piece: Green-----BreeAnn & Cameron Discipline, Perserverance, Heart Blue----Rori & Fresh Knowledge, Strength, Trust Red------Emily & Nick Commitment, Luck, Teamwork
*on the huts' steps, JD comes over holding Gray's pieces and a note* JD: Come on out and take a seat. So here they are. The final 3 teams. But, last night, we had another team eliminated at Temple last night. The gray Team. The may have left forever, but they left their pieces behind and a note, which I'm gonna let Emily read today. Emily: [reading the note aloud] To all our dearest friends for life, We had an enthralling time on Endurance! Thanks everyone for the supercool time and the things we learned. We don't have any regrets, but we did our best anyway. Red team, we always knew you guys were strong, but you're still a threat. Blue team, you 2 were so fun to be around and you had the guts to send us. Green team, you came outta nowhere! You laid low a lot, but we think you're getting better, so you get our pieces. Love, the Gray Team- Colin & Paige
JD: How 'bout that? Green Team, you've got a big lead with 5 pieces, Blue & Red have 3 pieces. Seems like you're the team to beat. But, today there will be a Samadhi & piece involved, and here's something new: In the past we've used different games, so today, we'll change it up a bit 'cuz you are gonna get to create your own game. See the equipment in front of you? That's what you're gonna use to make your game. You can make it anything you want, you can tell me later on today, I'll see ya in a few hours.
*in front of the huts, the teams are contemplating on what to do for the game* Cameron: I think we should do something that builds adrenaline. Rori: I think mental's better. Fresh: Ugh! I'm not creative at this! Nick: Anyone got really team-like ideas? Emily: Let's do a race! BreeAnn: Yeah! We can use the pyramid pieces, sandbags, logs & flags! Cameron: I gotta admit, that's a good idea! Emily: That sounds perfect! Let's set it up!
*JD walks over to the mission where the teams have it all set up* JD: Hey everyone! Kids: Hey! JD: Wow, that's a cool game you made! Now who's gonna tell me about it? Rori: I will! JD: Now, tell me what you created. Rori: Okay, 1st off, the boys are gonna hold the cues steady while the girls are gonna shoot balls thru them to knock over 5 pyramid pieces with 2-lb. sandbags tied to 'em. Once we're done with that, we gotta take the pieces and place 'em on the logs on the far side and carry it over to the last checkpoint, where we'll grab the flag and run thru the log obstacles back and the first one back wins. JD: That's a cool game! Now, as we all know, you're gonna be competing for the Ingenuity piece and this... the dreaded Samadhi. The team that wins this is gonna handicap 1 other team in tomorrow's final Temple Mission. And by the end of tomorrow, we'll be down to only 2 teams, who'll face off to become Endurance champs. Alright, go get in position. *the boys go over and hold the cues steady while the girls get ready to shoot* JD: On your mark..... Get set....... GO!!!! *the girls all start shooting, some of them miss the mark on the 1st few tries, but Blue & Red get it down and go over to the logs* JD: here come Red & blue at the same time, while Green's having trouble knocking the pieces down! Nick: Come on, Em! We got this, girl! JD: Green's finally done shooting the pieces, but now Blue's on their way back! Fresh: Alright, Ror! Rori: Go under! Over! JD: Green team's now on their way back! Blue & Red are just 6 ft. from winning! It looks like it's too little, too late for the other teams! *Blue runs to the triangle and plants their flag* JD: Whoa!! That's it! Blue team won this thing! *on the sand, JD & the Blue Team are standing with the Samadhi* JD: Well, way to go, Blue! You guys've just came out on top in just 2 days! This is your 3rd win and I'm sure you wanna know about this: the dreaded Samadhi. One of the other 2 teams over there's gonna get it. But now, you can decide on who gets it and I'll see ya later at the rock for the decision. You can go now. *the Blue team hugs and celebrates*
*on the beach, Green is talking* Cameron: I think we're gonna get the Samadhi. BreeAnn: Yeah, 'cause Blue & Red're friends and we've won more missions than them. Cameron: This is really jank, big-time! BreeAnn: We just gotta try our best no matter what, 'cause now, it's win or go back to Temple.
*in the huts, Blue & Red are talking* Rori: We're definitely giving it to Green. They've been, like, the strongest team physically for weeks. Nick: Until now! You and Fresh are beasts, y'know that? Emily: I hope one of us wins tomorrow 'cause then we'll have more of a chance in being the final 2 together. Fresh: We can't let Green win, 'cause then, we're headed up to Temple.
*the kids walk over to the rock where the Samadhi ceremonies take place* JD: Hey guys! Wasn't it cool getting to create your own game? Nick: Yeah! JD: Now, we've come really far since we started nearly 8 weeks ago. We started with 20 kids, but now, there's only 3 teams remaining: Red, Blue & green. Emily, how's it gonna feel when you're walking down the street one day and someone sees you and says, "Hey, you're the Endurance champ!"? Emily: It's gonna feel really good. JD: But, it's gonna get tougher, and you've all gotta try harder in the next few challenges if you wanna leave this place as the Endurance champion. Now, we oughta get down to business now. Blue team, which team have you decided to give the Samadhi to? Rori: We're sorry, but Green team, you're getting the Samadhi. *Blue hands the Samadhi to Green* JD: Green team, I'm sorry to say, yyou're gonna be saddled with a handicap tomorrow. Go ahead and smash it to find out what it is. *Cameron smashes the Samadhi, JD picks up a circular rock from the rubble* JD: This rock will indicate that you'll have 1 extra row in tomorrow's Temple Mission. Doesn't mean you're gonna lose and go to Temple, but it's gonna make it harder for you to play. Teams, tomorrw is gonna be your last elimination, and by tomorrow night, we'll be down to our final 2 teams. You're free to go. Cameron: I hope this Samadhi's gonna benefit us and we can be one of the final 2. Nick: I reckon it'll be us and Blue in the final 2 tomorrow. I wanna win so bad, it's not even funny.

Endurance: Santa Barbara- Episode 12: Triarmed Tiles
JD, voiceover: Last time on Endurance: Santa Barbara... The teams faced a shocking twist that allowed them to create their own game for the last Endurance Mission. The Blue team pulled out their 3rd win and chose to give the last dreaded Samadhi to the Green team. Now, the final 3 teams will compete for a spot in the Endurance finals. Who will have the Trust to be in finals? Find out as we see who possesses the greatest endurance.
*birds chirp as the camera goes to the Temple from a lakeview* 7 TEAMS *shows kids climbing a rock* 13 CHALLENGES *shows kids playing missions* 1 BEACH *shows a crow's nest view of the island* ENDURANCE: SANTA BARBARA
Team Stats: Color: Team Member: Piece: Green-----BreeAnn & Cameron Discipline, Perserverance, Heart Blue----Rori & Fresh Knowledge, Strength, Trust, Ingenuity Red------Emily & Nick Commitment, Luck, Teamwork
*on the beach, the guys & girls are getting ready to go swimming* BreeAnn: Today, we decided to take a break and just relax. Nick: We just kinda had fun that we don't really get to have at home 'cuz you're out on an island with kids who used to be strangers, but are now your friends. Rori: I feel really happy here, and I really wanna be in the top 2 with one of my most closest allies. Fresh: Today feels kinda bad 'cuz it'll be hard seeing 1 last team go. Cameron: We're on a lot of pressure 'cuz we have the Samadhi. As of now, it's either win or go back to Temple. Emily: Today's hard 'cuz if you lose, you go to Temple, and there's only 1 position that ensures your spot in the final 3. BreeAnn: Everyone feels nervous now and none of us wanna see anyone go home 'cuz we've grown so close.
*the kids walk over the the mission* JD: How's everyone doin'? Kids: Good. JD: I'll bet you are. This is your last Temple Mission. Today's also your last elimination and by tonight, there's only gonna be 2. But sadly, one last team will be leaving tonight. Here's the game: In front of you are several rows with tiles of all the team colors that left before you. When I say go, you'll pick up one of the colors to see move on. If it has your team triangle on it, you get to move up. If it doesn't have the triangle on it, you gotta come back here to start all over again. The first team to make it to the last row will win a spot in the Endurance finals, while the other 2 teams will be automatically selected to go to the Temple. Green team, you got the Samadhi yesterday and what was in it? Cameron: It was a 1. JD: As you can see, you've got an extra row. Won't make it impossible to win, just gonna be tougher. All right, get in position. *the teams are ready to pick a color* JD: On your mark, get set, reveal your color. Red: Yellow Blue: Yellow Green: Gray JD: Red, Blue, you get to move on, Green, stay there and pick your next color and show it. Red: Orange Blue: Purple Green: Yellow JD: Green, Blue, you get to move on, Red, you have to restart. Get another color, and... reveal it! Red: Yellow Blue: Orange Green: Purple JD: Oh, they all got it right! Blue has the lead, Red & Green are trailing behind. Gte the next one and conceal it! Red: Purple Blue: Gray Green: Orange JD: You've all got it right again! Blue team, you get to go to the 2nd-to-last row, Green, Red, you're catching up fast. Get the next one and reveal it. Red: Orange Blue: Yellow Green: Gray JD: Red, Green, you get to progress, Blue team, you gotta go all the way back to Row 1. Get your next color and conceal it! Red: Gray Blue: Yellow Green: Purple JD: Red, Blue, you may proceed, Green, you have to return to Row 1. Pick up your next color and reveal it. Red: Brown Blue: Purple Green: Yellow JD: Red, you get to go to the last row, Blue, Green, you get to succeed. Red team, you're gonna pick your own color. If it's correct, you're gonna be in the Endurance finals. If it's not, you gotta start all over again. Pick your colors and... reveal it! Red: Red Blue: Orange Green: Purple JD: OH!!! Red team, congrats! You're gonna be going onto the Endurance finals to win the grand-prize trip to Old Faithful Geyser. Blue, Green, you've automatically been selected to go to Temple. You'll have to take the long journey to the Temple of Fate. Pack your bags, say your goodbyes, we leave at sunset.
*in the huts, Blue & Green are packing their bags* Fresh: Can't believe we're headed back to Temple. Rori: Me, too. I really wanna be in the Endurance finals, but I wanna get over this. BreeAnn: It'll be so great to be in the finals with Red, but it'll be hard without Blue, our closest friend and ally. Cameron: We survived Temple once, but I'm questioning if we're mentally strong enough to stay and be in the finals. *outside the huts, the 3 teams hug, and Blue and Green set out for the Temple* Nick: Bye, guys! Emily: See y'all later! BreeAnn: i don't wanna think about going home tonight. All I wanna do is just make it to the finals and win the grand prize. Cameron: It feels hard knowing that only 1 of us is gonna come back and the closer we get to winning the better we can win it all. Rori: I absolutely love it here! Santa Barbara is such a miraculous and beautiful place and I'll just miss waking up to see all this! I've learned a lot from this experience and if me and Fresh go home tonight, I'm not gonna have any regrets whatsoever. I've played a really spectacular game and I will never forget this for the rest of my life. Fresh: It's crestfalling that we have to go against Green, our best friends here at the Temple. But I wanna win. Me and Rori aren't ready to go home yet, and I've become a much better person from this and I'll fight to the end till Blue becomes the Endurance champ.
*Blue & Green traverse thru the jungle and arrive at the Temple of Fate* JD: Welcome to the temple of Fate. Blue team, Green team, this is your 2nd trip up for both of you. In a few moments, only one team will be headed back to the huts to square off against the Red team in the Endurance finals. Here's what you gotta do. In front of are 3 cauldrons: one with wood, one with fire, and the other has water. You'll have to write down one of those elements on a piece of wood, and then I'll drop 'em back there in the burning kettle of fire. As we all know: fire burns wood, wood floats on water, and water puts out the fire. The first team to win two rounds will go back to camp to face off against Red in the finals. The other team, will be leaving Endurance forever. Go ahead and grab your first piece of wood. *the teams pick up pieces of wood and take out markers to write down their choices* Rori: Methinks they're gonna do fire, so let's do water. Fresh: That's a great idea, but they might change their mind and pick wood instead. Cameron: They think that we think we're gonna do water, but they're wrong 'cause we should go with wood. BreeAnn: great point. Let's jot it down and hope it's right. *the teams hand their choices to JD, who then drops them into the burning kettle* JD: Okay. Can we find out who had the dominant element? Blue: Fire Green: Water JD: Green team, you picked water, Blue team, you picked fire. Water puts out the fire, that's one win for you, Green. One more, and you'll be competing for the grand prize. Blue team, you need to win this one to stay in the game. Grab your next piece of wood. *the teams pick up another piece of wood* Fresh: Since we just had fire, let's do wood 'cuz I think they're gonna do water again. Rori: Go for it. Cameron: Let's stick with water and just hope it gives us the upper hand. BreeAnn: Shh! Don't show it, don't show it. *the teams hand their choices to JD, who then drops them into the burning kettle* JD: Green, if you win this, you'll be competing against Red in the finals. Blue, you need to win this one to force a tie-breaking round. Let's figure out who selected the dominant element. Blue: Wood Green: Water JD: Blue team, you picked wood, Green team, you picked water. Wood floats on water, so it's now 1 round apiece. The team that wins the 3rd one will head back to the cabins for the finals. Go ahead and grab your last piece of wood. *the teams pick up another piece of wood* BreeAnn: Let's do fire this time, can we? Cameron: Okay, we'll do it. Rori: Let's do water again. Fresh: Great idea. Write 'em down. *the teams hand their pieces to JD, who then drops them into the burning kettle* JD: Whoever wins this one is gonna head bac to camp and face off against Red in the finals, and the other will take the 1st flight home immediately. For the last time, can we see who chose the dominant element? Blue: Water Green: Fire JD: Alright! Blue team, you had water, Green team, you had fire. Water puts out the fire, which means, blue team, you made it to the Endurance finals! Green team, I know it's hard, but you guys played an unbelievable game. You made it all the way to the final 3, and you should be proud of that. Grab your stuff and go. *Green team evaporates into thin air behind the flames* JD: Blue team, I know it's a little bittersweet at winning, but you guys should be happy at yourselves. You fought so hard, and now you made it to the finals. Go down and head back to camp. *the Red team sits around the bonfire and sees Blue coming back thru the path* Fresh: We're back, baby!! *the 2 teams hug each other and cheer, the camera then fades into the moon in the dark sky*

At the Temple, Green's luck ran out, and they became the last team to be eliminated from the game. Now, we're down to 2 teams: Blue team & Red team. Who has the Heart to get the upper hand in the finals? Find out as we see who possesses the greatest endurance.
*birds chirp as the camera goes to the Temple from a lakeview* 7 TEAMS *shows kids climbing a rock* 13 CHALLENGES *shows kids playing missions* 1 BEACH *shows a crow's nest view of the island* ENDURANCE: SANTA BARBARA
Team Stats: Color: Team Member: Piece: Blue----Rori & Fresh Knowledge, Strength, Trust, Ingenuity Red------Emily & Nick Commitment, Luck, Teamwork
*JD walks over to the huts, holding Green's pieces and a note* JD: For the final time, guys, girls, come on out! Okay, I can't believe it. We're down to the 4 of you. We started out with 20 contestants weeks ago, but now, it's just you 4. Well, let's get to it. last night, our final team, the Green team was eliminated. They left their 3 pieces and a letter after they were eliminated. Rori, I'll let you read it today. Rori: [reading the note aloud] Hey Final 2! We're really happy that you 2 got all the way here! We had an amazing experience on Santa Barbara. Emily-- you have an awesome personality and you're really fun to be around with! Nick-- At first people might look at you as a cliche, but you proved you can help anyone, even the most gossipy girls to get along. Fresh & Rori, our biggest allies and BFFs! We love you guys a lot. Rori, you're trustworthy and full of truth. Fresh, you're a brickhouse with heart and you make us feel positive. Blue, we're rooting for you! Lots of love, truly the Green Team, Cameron & BreeAnn JD: Wow! That was a great letter, y'know? Kids: Yeah. JD: Well, like I said, the green team left behind 5 pieces, which will be up for grabs along with the other 2 pieces over there, which you'll play for in the final mission. But, since it's your last day on Santa Barbara, you might as well make a memory of you time here and the people that were with you. Over there are 5 tree stumps representing the teams before that were eliminated. Take some time and make a creative tribute to the 5 teams that left before you.
*at the stumps, the teams are painting the stumps* Rori: This is awesome! I love the artistic side of life! Fresh: How 'bout we paint stripes for the teams? Nick: And their names, too! Emily: That sounds excellent! Fresh: The Yellow team was cool. Skyler was a really funny guy to be around. Emily: And Nicole was funny too. Nick: I think if Yellow stayed till this point, they woulda been really strong. Rori: The Purple team was the sweetest team. Angelica was so strong and totally smart. Nick: So was Jacob. I think Purple was the most intelligent team. Emily: What about Orange? Fresh: They totally caused a LOT of drama! Rori: But they stuck thru it and did better than we thought. Nick: They were pretty nice, if you ask me. Emily: What about Gray? I feel bad about sending them up to Temple for the 1st elimination. Paige was probably my best friend around here when you wouldn't stick up for me, Rori. Fresh: Colin was always relaxed. I didn't expext him to shock everyone by becoming the first team with paige. Nick: I remember when I wanted to be Paige's partner because she spoke up about who she wanted! Rori: That really made me jealous at first. Fresh: Green was funny. Our best mates! Rori: I miss BreeAnn. Emily: Painting the stumps was awesome. We got to remember the teams and memories we had here and we're gonna miss it a lot.
*the kids walk over to the mission* JD: welcome to your last mission ever. As you now, you'll be competing for the 3 pieces left behind by Green and the other 4 pieces still up for grabs. Here's what you gotta do: The girls will stand on the shore with a box of balls and the guys will stand on a platform out there with the boxes holding the pyramid pieces. When I say go, the girls will throw the balls to their partner, who'll then catch them in a bucket and then dump it into one of the pyramid pieces. The first team with the most pieces will win the game and have a big advantage heading into tonight's final competition. Alright, let's get to it. *the boys head out to the platforms while the girls stay on shore* JD: alright, girls. On your mark... get set, GO!! *the girls fire their first ball, Blue misses while Red gets it on Discipline* JD: Oh! Right off the bat, Red gets it on Discipline! Blue team still can get a piece! *the girls fire again, both get it on a piece; for Red: Courage, for Blue: Friendship* JD: they both get it! It's now 2-1! Keep going, keep going, keep going! *the girls fire several times and miss, but on the 9th try, Blue team gets it on Heart* JD: It's tied now! 2-2, and it's still anybody's game! *the girls shoot again; Red gets it on Perserverance while Blue gets it on Karma* JD: Still a tie! There's only one piece left, and it's Leadership! Whoever gets it will have a lead going into tonight's game! *the girls fire and miss 3 times, but on Blue's last try, they get it on Leadership* JD: That is it!!! *the final 2 teams are now standing on shore with JD* JD: That was a close and awesome competition! Red team, you kinda started off with the lead, but then you started missing, and blue took over. Thanks to that last one, the pieces are now divided. Blue has 8, and Red has 6. I'll see you a little later on the rock for a little gift. You're free to go.
*back in the huts, the teams are talking about the competition* Fresh: I'm really excited to go to Temple tonight with the lead! I think me and Rori are gonna win. Nick: We're only 2 behind, and I hope we'll overcome the odds and win. Rori: me and Fresh are happy while Red isn't. Emily: It feels disappointing to have only 6 pieces, but I wanna win, and we'll just see and just you wait.
JD, voiceover: On the season finale of Endurance: santa Barbara... These 2 teams have made their way to the finals. Blue has the lead going into the last competition, but anything can and will happen at the Temple of Fate. And the game won't be over until the 14th piece is won. You didn't let anybody get in the way of winning. Blue team, you flew under the radar but, suddenly, you started to work very well together. Fresh, how would you describe your teamwork with Rori? Fresh: How I'd describe it is by playing a totally honest and trustworthy game. We grew to trust each other wholeheartedly, and that's what got us here. JD: Okay, and how 'bout Emily? Emily: I think that we got here be being competitive and being very driven and determined to win. When we went up to Temple, we picked up our game plan and improved more than it was before. JD: Nick, describe your partnership with her. Nick: Just like Em said, we're totally competitive and it was good that our personalities came together to get us to the top 2. JD: Rori, do you have anything to say? Rori: I think Fesh explained it out. We trusted one another and our alliances, and if it weren't for him, I would'nt be here today. JD: as this is your last day, I have a gift that'll help you remember this. *JD hands the teams stone replicas of the Temple, which has Endurance: Santa Barbara carved into it along with the 7 team colors and names* JD: These are small stone replicas of the Temple, with the Endurance logo and team colors carved into it. *in the girls' hut, both girls are packing their bags* Rori: I'm really gonna miss my bed! Emily: I won't miss the bunks, but i'll miss the ocean and everything! Rori: We had a lot of memories of swimming, playing and sitting 'round the campfire. Emily: This has been a lotta fun! I don't wanna go home!
*outside the huts, the teams are getting ready to leave* Emily: Bye huts! Nick: We really admire you! Rori: Looks like it's time to go. Fresh: let's head on out. Nick: i'm ready to win. This has been an awesome experience. I got chosen from thousands of kids and I got into the final 2. I really wanna be the Endurance champ and go to Yellowstone. Emily: I'm still thinking we won't see this again. Nick's an awesome partner and we really wanna win even with 6 pieces. Fresh: I loved it on Santa Barbara. Everything's magnificent and Rori's been a breathtaking partner. I wanna walk off the island as the first ever endurance Champ. Rori: This experience has been amazing and enthralling! I really think me and Fresh are gonna get the grand prize after we win. This is the best thing ever and I wanna be the one to go to Yellowstone.
*Blue and Red go thru the jungle and arrive at the temple of fate* JD: welcome to the final competition at the temple. Tonight we're gonna find our endurance Champ. 8 weeks ago, 20 teens begin this, but you 4 will finish it up right here, right now. In front of you are 3 silver pyramids. Your objective is to find the golden pyramid. the team that's behind will go first and put down their pieces anywhere they want. Then the leading team will place down their pieces in the available spots. This'll continue until we find our Endurance champ. Red, you have 6 pieces, which means you get to go first. Emily: Let's do 2. Nick: okay, Luck and Perserverance. Rori: Think we should do Trust. <X>Luck <X>Perserverance <X>Trust JD: okay, let's find out who has the golden pyramid. < >Luck <X>Perserverance < >Trust JD: Red team, you get all the pieces. It's 7-7. Red, you were behind last time, you get to go first. Nick: We ought to do Commitment, Courage and Discipline Emily: Good idea. Fresh: This time, let's do Strength. <X>Commitment <X>Strength <X>Discipline <X>Courage JD: Let's see who had the Golden Pyramid. < >Commitment <X>Strength < >Discipline < >Courage JD: Oh! That's a big step-up for Blue. They now have 10 pieces, leaving Red with 4. Red, you're still behind, you get to go. Nick: Let's do Teamwork. Emily: Yeah, just one piece. Rori: We'll do Trust, Knowledge, friendship & Heart. <X>Trust <X>Heart <X>Teamwork <X>Friendship <X>Knowledge JD: Can we please reveal who had the golden pyramid? < >Trust <X>Heart < >Teamwork < >Friendship < >Knowledge JD: Blue team, you're now up to 11.
