Just for fun, I'd figure I'd make a list of the contestants' name meanings--I always found them interesting.
Endurance 1:
Shane Peltzman: "God is gracious", no known meaning for last name --Shane is a variant of "Sean", which is an Irish version of "John" Ron Neurauter: "advice on power", no known meaning for last name --Ron is short for Ronald Alejandro Rose-Garcia: "defender of man from roses and bears" Lacey Elick: "Lassy, from Elwick" (both are habitational names, haha) Heather Ichihashi: "heather from the market bridge" (Virginia) Cree Howard: "a (virgin) Cree with a brave spirit" (Nicholas) Max Deleo: "(victory of the people) Mack's stream from Leo" --I couldn't find DeLeo, but could guess base on the possible similarity on De Leon. Could be wrong, though) Jenna Jimenez: "God is gracious"/"white phantom" of Jimeno. --The meaning of "Jenna" depends if you're basing it as a variant of "Jane" or "Jennifer". Jennifer eventually connects back to Guinevere, which leads to the latter meaning. Brandon Hendrix: "home ruler of a hill covered with broom" --"Hendrix" eventually goes back to "Henry". hence the last name. Meaning is reversed because it makes a bit more sense. Layla Brisco: "night on birch wood" --Took a guess that Briscoe could be related to Brisco in some way. Skyler Russell: "little red scholar" (his first name seems really fitting, considering his role on the show. Haha) Chelsea Myers: "the mayor of a landing place of chalk and limestone" Trevor Wilkins: "the big house of the son of Wilkin" Lana Neiman: "little rock"/"handsome"/"bright" stranger --Lana's name depends on if it was a variant of Alana or Svetlana. To be honest, I think it's more of the former--plus Lana is her birth name, without being short of anything. Christian Justice: Self-explanatory, yes? (Christian derives from Christos, which means "anointed one") Ashley Gudzak: "ash tree clearing", no known meaning of last name Jon Crocilla: "God is gracious", no known meaning of last name Sabrina Lloyd: "gray river" (from what I've found, Sabrina refers to a river in mythology, though the meaning is unknown) Aaron Thornburg: "exalted river of thorns" Jonna Mannion: "God is gracious to the monk"
Most of the meanings I found are from behindthename.com, though I tend to look here and there if it's not immediately avaliable.

Endurance 2:
David Cofresi: "beloved", no known meaning of last name Glen Powell: "the valley's son of Hywel" Trey Griffin: "three griffins/kings" (depending on if you go with the English or the Welsh meaning) Sarah Ruckreigle: "princess", no known meaning of last name Abbey Konz: "my father's joy, of brave counsel" --I couldn't find a straightforward meaning, but I guessed that it would be a variant of Kunz Simone Bouffard: "he has heard a glutton" (yeah, that's not the most pleasant last name meaning...) Wayne Williams: "wagon, son of William" Maryelle Devitto: "sea of bitterness"/"rebellious"/"wished for child" of Vito --Maryelle is a diminutive of Mary or Maria. Hence so many meanings for her. Phil Morelli: "friend/beloved of the Moors" Jacquelynn Pointer: "supplanter of the pointer" (Cameron) Scooter Magruder: "the crooked-nosed son of a brewer" (Scooter is just Scooter) Christa Scholtz: "a Christian mayor/judge" (alternatively, the anointed judge) (Woodrow) Shep Allen: "a handsome sheep herder (alongside rows of houses made of wood)" --Shep is just short for "Shepherd" Calley Payne; "a manly heathen/pagan" --Calley is a diminuative for "Caroline" Jeff Phillips: "territorial peace, son of Phillip" Annie Kim: "a grace/favor in gold" Tyler Burkhalter: "tiler of roofs on a castle slope" Michelle Durand: "Who is like God--enduring?" Mike Lavigne: "Who is like God in the vineyard?" Keetin Marchi: "a place of hawks for Mars" (Mars being the Roman God) --Couldn't find "Keetin" in particular, but I found "Keeton". Should be a variant, if I'm right.

Endurance: Teehachapi
Nick Verderosa: "victory of the people from a green rose" Keith Walker: "a wood mover" Tucker Baer: "tormented and bright" Brittany Harvey: "battle-worthy Brittany" --interesting, both of these terms come from Breton; Brittany is a region in northern France. Kendall Yorkey: "valley on the river Kent", no known meaning of last name Brooke Bellows: "a bellows maker living on a brook" John Kardian: "God is gracious", no known meaning of last name Julie Dubela: "downy-beared/Jupiter", no known meaning of last name Christopher Tavarez: "Christ bearer of Tavares" --Tavares is a place name in Portugal, of which Tavarez is a variant. Callie Simpkins: "a man who has heard" Michael Delvecchio: "Who is like God of the aged?" Kylie Gliessman: "boomerang/strait which glitters' --I'm guessing that Gliessman is a variant of "Glissman" Shea Thomas: "a fine twin" Amelia Land: "unceasing land" Isaac Hainley: "he will laugh at the home ruler" --Hainley is a varient of a German last name, which derives from Heinrich, which is a German variant of Henry. Yesenia (Jeszie) Geronimo: "a palm tree with a sacred name" --because Jeszie is only a nickname, I went for the meaning of her birth name. Jessie is a short form for Jessica, which means "to behold" Jonathan Lebowitz: "God has given a baker" Daniela Bustamante: "God is my judge over Bustamante/pasture of Amantius" Franke Sisto: "a scraped Frenchman" (kind of weird because I imagine Franke is of Italian descent) --Franke has to be a diminutive for Frank or Francis. Erika Cook: "ever ruler of the cooks" (queen stuff)

Endurance: FijiAndres Ramirez: "a man, the son of Ramiro" Matthew Jones: "gift of God, the son of John" Rebecca Simonoko: "to bind/to tie", no known meaning of last name Cinnamon Aldridge: "cinnamon from Aldridge" Kyle Curtis: "a polite sound/narrows/brook" (kind of strange when translated, though a pretty ordinary name on the surface) Briana Vega: "a high power in the meadow/plain" Connor Konz: "a desiring wolf, of brave counsel" Jackie Wei: "holder of the heel" --Jackie is a diminutive of Jacqueline --Wei has at least three meanings. Compared to Zhou, in which there's one character people use for a last name, I don't know which "Wei" is Jackie's last name. Caleb Courtney: "a dog descended from Courtney" Lauren Dixon: "laurel, [daughter] of thingy" Jonathan Young: "God has given the young" Hannah Gross: "a large grace" --"Gross" derives from German, which means "big", "tall", or "great". Not what you think it is! Will Cuddy: "a bright will"/"a will of the helper" --I've also seen Cuddy as an English variant of an Irish name. so there's two possible meanings, depending on if Cuddy is based on the first name or not. Leslie Powell: "a garden of holly from Hywel" Benedict Scheuer: "blessed, from a little barn" --"Scheuer" is a topographic name, referring to somebody from a barn" Jordyn Barbato: "a bearded one from the Jordan (river)"
