Okay, I don't know if anyone else was a fan of Adventure Camp, but it was probably tied for my 2nd favorite show on DK (along with Serious) after Endurance. The episodes have been missing for FOREVER, but most of the episodes for the 2nd season (2008) are now available on YouTube!! This begs the question, whatever happened to the first season (2003)? This season was barely ever played on DK. I remember there was like a week in summertime 2009 or 2010 where they showed the first season and that was the only time I ever saw it or watched it (and I was an AVID DK watcher for about 5 years). I'm pretty certain that The Hub picked up Adventure Camp and played it for a while at least... but this was the 2008 season. The 2003 season has always been somewhat of a mystery. We know the entire cast's names for the 2008 season, but know no one's full names for the 2003 season and barely any production info. I wanted to see if I could track down these episodes somehow.
So first, I went on IMDB and the literal only production information for that season is the director's name, Guy Nickerson. I tracked him down on the internet to his current production company, Remedy Studios or something like that. I sent them an email asking if they knew more about this first season of Adventure Camp. The person who responded to me was super interested that I was looking for this show and said it was a blast from the past and fun to work on! Unfortunately, he said they sold it Discovery and don't have any of the episodes anymore. He recommended poking around and trying to see what happened to them from there.
So, I went to Discovery's website and sent in a general "Submit a request" question to see what happened to these episodes. I honestly doubt I'll get a response from such a general inquiry page... but it's worth a shot, and if I don't get a response for a while, I'm going to try to see if I can find someone's personal contact information within the company. I'm really determined to find these episodes!
