Tristan: Where do you live and what do you do for a living?
What was the Endurance process like for you?
How did you hear about Endurance?
Was being in a nationally televised competition different then you expected?
Who were you closest to on the show?
Do you still keep in contact with anyone from the show?
Is there anyone you wish you kept in touch with?
Has Endurance affected you and your life in any way?
If you could do Endurance over again would you?
If so, what would you do differently?
Were you a fan of the show before watching and did you watch any seasons after?
What were your favorite missions from the show?
Did you feel you were portrayed accurately on the show?
It's been a long time since Endurance: High Sierras has aired, do you have any memories that stand out?
Have you ever been recognized from being on the show?
Where you surprised that your strategy at temple backfired and that your former partner told the rest of the group about it?

Whew, the Endurance process. Well, I first auditioned for Endurance 4 — I sent in a five-minute audition tape and got a callback, but that’s as far as that went. Then when E5 came around, I sent in a tape, got a callback, sent in another tape, got another callback, filled out a bunch of paperwork, and then got the call that I was on the show. It was kind of bananas. I had zero experience in front of a camera and zero desire to make a career out of it, so the fact that I got even one callback for one season blew my mind!
I discovered Endurance totally by accident. It was a rainy day and I was super bored and there happened to be an Endurance marathon on Discovery Kids. It sounded interesting and I had nothing better to do. I think it was somewhere in the middle of season 1? And within an hour or so I was hooked, lol
I don’t really know what I expected, to be honest! Though people still ask me about it, I still get messages from the occasional fan, and it’s still something I have to explain to friends (“how do I know this person? Oh, well, we were on this TV show together...”). So in that respect, no, I did not expect to still be talking about Endurance as I’m approaching my 30th birthday! 😂
I was closest with Lilly from pretty much the moment we were allowed to talk to each other. Aric and I had actually met beforehand on MySpace (throwback!!) so we were super tight super fast as well. And I THOUGHT I was close with Connor, but, well...
I’m awful at keeping in touch with people in general, but I do chat with Lilly every now and then. She, Aric and I had a mini reunion a few years ago, which was so awesome!
I wish I’d kept in touch with Ike!! He was my dude! But he’s never really been on social media so it was so hard to keep up with him! If you hear from him, let me know! 😂😂
Not to be cheesy but Endurance has definitely affected me. Gave me lots of trust issues (lol but seriously), but it was overwhelmingly for the better. I learned at such a young age that I could pursue my crazy-ass dreams, and that they could actually come true! That was SUCH a valuable lesson and I really do think that completely changed my life.
I would 100% do Endurance over again!
My one regret from Endurance is not standing up for myself more, so if I could do it again, I’d want to be more vocal. Like, the team switch happened and I just sat there??? Why? I think part of that was just age and shock, but d**n, if I could do it again I would definitely put up more of a fight.
Oh god, I was the world’s biggest fan. Like, “obsessed” doesn’t even do it justice. And I did continue watching after I was on!
Oof, favorite missions? Hmm. Honestly I didn’t really enjoy any of the missions I got to participate in. They’re not fun when you lose! 😂 But if we’re talking all-time, I always thought Spin Fly from E4 looked super fun.
I haven’t watched E5 in a million years, but from what I can remember I do think I was portrayed accurately. I was nice to everyone and cried a bunch, and that’s what they showed. 😂 I do wish they’d shown that I actually had friends, though! When Ike and I lost at temple, before we left we hugged the yellow team goodbye and I gave Lilly my bandana to wear. But they cut that out, I guess to make us seem more isolated? Idk man. But Lilly and Aric wore grey for the entire next episode, so they showed up for us anyway. 💛🤍
I think the memory that stands out the most was the weekend I spent out there! We had to abide by child labor laws and weren’t allowed to film on weekends, so we had two days off to just hang out. Ike and I got the samadhi on Friday, so I carried that stupid thing around in my pocket for two days! 😂 It was kind of hard to put the game aside — everyone wanted me gone and now I was supposed to just act like we were best friends?! — but we spent our time swimming in the lake and chilling, and it was fun. It was a good reminder to me that nothing happening in the game was personal. I could still like these people even if they wanted to send me home.
I have been recognized a few times! I was once on a college tour with a girl who was a fan, which was pretty wild. And I went to the University of Miami, so one of Stephanie’s friends recognized me once! I actually got recognized at college a few times.
