Tristan: What are you doing for a living and where do you live now?
Simone: I work as a professional dancer in LA these days, but I’ve danced all over from NYC to the Midwest to here.
Tristan: How did you hear about Endurance?
Simone: I was a fan of the show and sought out auditions when season 1 was finishing up.
Tristan: What was the most difficult part of the right to stay challenge?
Simone: It was so long ago, but I just remember how windy and cold it was. On top of having to lift that bar, I felt like I was just going to blow off the platform!
Tristan: What could you have done differently to have gone further?
Simone: I wouldn’t have broken my concentration while on the platform. I was completely focused, and then suddenly I realized how much time had gone by so I remember chatting with whoever was next to me and shouting towards the guys on the beach. Haha. I was getting restless.
Tristan: What was your favorite part about being on the show?
Simone: Definitely the friendships. Oh definitely. Mike and I hung out all the time when I lived in NYC. He would even come to my dance performances and we’d celebrate birthdays together. Keetin and I have gotten together in LA, and I still chat with Jeff, Glen, Jenna, and Trey. Plus social media makes things easier.
Tristan: What’s you’re favorite memory of the show?
Simone: Oh man. When you asked that I just remembered I was also sick that day of “Right to Stay” with a 103 degree fever. So add that to the list of challenges. Haha. But my favorite memory would be the donkey ride through the desert. It was 3 hours long and we all really bonded.
Tristan: How has being on Endurance affected your life?
Simone: Well, I wrote my college admissions essay about it, so it definitely affected my life by getting me into college. Ha! It’s still showed on tv sometimes, and I’ll have random friends text me saying they saw my face on tv at 4 am!
Tristan: How has being on Endurance affected your life?
Simone: I would 1000000% do it again. It was such a good time, and I want another shot! Getting eliminated still haunts me. I have dreams about it still. I remember meeting Glen for dinner years ago and we
talked about how losing that day still haunts us.
Tristan: Also what are some non-invasive ways fans of the show can contact you?
Simone: I’m surprised people would even remember me! I suppose Instagram is best. I try to be as responsive as I can!
Tristan: What happened after the elimination?
Simone: Whoever was eliminated got to hang out at the hotel at least until we got flights home. For a handful of us, that was a week, and it was fantastic! We went snorkeling, went swimming with dolphins, took a boat out into the ocean — it was a blast. I remember it was Maryelle, Glen, Abbey, Wayne, Trey, and I. On the bright side, we were having just as good of a time as the kids on the beach, if not better.
Tristan: That sounds fun. Did you ever watch any seasons after yours?
Simone: I watched a little bit of season 3 because I was curious about it, mainly because I wanted to see what the “right to stay” challenge was.
Thank you Simone for answering the questions. Please remember she has a life outside of Endurance and to be kind and respectful towards her.
