I may have misinterpreted the question just a bit. Everyone actually had a good amount of time to prepare, since we were notified when we were heading out to Cali for the final audition round. Once we passed the final audition round, that’s when they told us we actually got on the show. Sorry for the mixup!

Oh, so I guess the other finalists who didn’t make it didn’t actually fly out. So the “final audition round” was a ruse to surprise y’all with the fact that y’all were on the show

No, sorry for the confusion. All of us (including a few people who didn’t make it onto the show) flew out and went through a couple interviews while we were there. Once they narrowed it down to the 18 of us, they told us we all got on and then we drove to the campsite.

So the people that didn’t make it just had to go back home? Their parents took off work for no reason?
I guess technically a lot of competitors’ parents took off work “for no reason”... considering you could be eliminated one day or three weeks into the show.
Idk lol, I’m just trying to imagine the logistics of trying to tell my job “hey I need to take 3 weeks off but also I may be back after a day or two”

Wait Jack, another quick question! On the show I noticed that everytime a team was chosen to head to the cave, or before the offering, they would have these journals. Were those journals just where y’all wrote little memoirs, or is it anything else?

They just gave us those journals to do whatever we want with them. There weren’t really any specific rules, they were basically there to help remember the experience as it was happening.

aaah hello friends!! i dunno if it's weird for me to post here but howdy, it's me presley! i just wanted to say now that the show is out WOW you guys did such a good job?? major kudos to y'all for being able to figure everything out with so little information!! i've been a member of a lot of fandoms over the years and done my best sleuthing and i will say it's fascinating to be on the other side of it for once point is you guys are all SO smart and dedicated i'm in awe of how much you managed to find since the very start!! You did amazing. I am on episode four now and watching it now. You were one of the three people i am or was rooting for to win. |

Hey Jack! I just have two questions if that’s okay Would you say your team already knew what the final phrase was before the final cave? And were the clues at all helpful? Also a little bit of a weird question, Was it cold at the cave? Both teams knew the final phrase hours before we actually went up. The clues weren’t really helpful in figuring anything new out, but they did affirm that our guess was correct. The cave wasn’t cold as far as I remember but it was a year ago so it may have been. I'm on episode four now and I definitely think you're awesome and funny. |
