Thank you Matt for the interview.
Tristan: What was the most difficult part of the right to stay challenge? What was your favorite part of being on the show? Had you survived how do you think you would've played the game? Was their a specific partner or team color you wanted? How did you hear about Endurance
Matt: Let's see:
- Most difficult part of the right to stay challenge was that I went into it with little energy. Sometime when we first arrived to the island, I passed out. And I spent the day with a doctor away from the rest of the cast. We ended up waiting so long to do the challenge because they were waiting to see if I'd recover enough to compete.
-Favorite part was getting to be in Fiji! I would have never thought to go there, especially not when I was 14
And getting to meet Becca, Andres, and Cinammon was really great too. We bonded over our shared loss. Just wish we stayed connected throughout the years.
-Really hard to tell how I would have played the game more than 10 years later. I would have relied on being friendly to play an under-the-radar social game. But I've forgotten how a lot of the social politics worked on the show, so who knows?
-Only really wanted to be on the Orange team. I know there was a lot of talks about who would be paired with whom when we got the island. But because I was with the doctor that day, I missed those conversations, and I think I got paired with Cinammon by everyone else. But I remember thinking Becca would have been a good partner too
-I was a HUGE fan of the show. I watched every season. And there was a Discovery Kids event that came by my hometown one year that had a booth for kids to submit auditions for the show. I didn't get on that year (I think that was Season 5), but that was when I realized I could apply to get on. So I did everything I could to make a killer video for Season 6.
