Bryan: Who do you still keep in contact with from Endurance? Is there anyone you wish you still kept in touch with?
Erika: I'm FB friends with most of the cast from my season and regularly 'like' and comment on Daniela, Amelia, and Isaac ;D Daniela and Amelia were the two I kept in contact with most. I do wish I knew what Jeszie was up to since we were closest during the actual filming, but unfortunately I think she left the world of FB.
Bryan: What are you doing and where are you living now?
Erika: I recently just moved back home to Southern California from Taiwan; I was teaching English and surfing over there. In a week I will be starting my Master's in Dual Language Development and Teaching Credential.
Bryan: How has Endurance affected you and/or your life? What is the most important lesson you learned from Endurance?
Erika: Endurance was a fantastic experience and in hindsight it's a great story to share with friends. My best friends love to still introduce me as their 'friend who won Endurance.' The most important thing I learned from Endurance is if you want something, you best be giving it your all to attain it. Even from the beginning, I really wanted to be on the show and with a little bit of luck, creativity, and a whole lot of desire, my casting video was picked ;D
Bryan: If you could do Endurance again, would you? Is there anything you would change if you did it again?
Erika: I would definitely go on Endurance again, and if I could change something, I would definitely choose to frequent the "confessions" booth more often hahaha. At 15 that seemed so odd to me, and I think I only went in when they told me to. I think it would have been funny to watch had I been a little more open with my feelings.
Bryan: How did you feel about the way you were portrayed on the show? Was it accurate or not?
Erika: I haven't seen an episode in awhile, but I think they did a fine job on portraying me.
Bryan: Were you ever recognized by random people?
Erika: When the show was still on, yes, random people would recognize me. Although it was minor, it was still fun to see excited kids and answer their questions about the show.
Bryan: Were you a fan of Endurance before being on the show? Did you continue to watch any of the seasons after yours?
Erika: Before I got on to the show, I was a major fan. I watched it every Saturday with my best friend. I even watched the precursor to Endurance which I think was called Moolah Beach. Unfortunately I wasn't able to watch the seasons after mine; my parents got rid of cable.
Bryan: How do you feel about the cancellation of Endurance?
Erika: I'm surprised that it got cancelled. I feel it was a rad show that appealed to kids all across the nation and fueled a stoke for being outdoors and challenging themselves.
Bryan: Is there any non-invasive way for fans of the show to contact you?
Erika: Fans can always send a message via FB, no worries ;D
Special thanks to Erika for being honest about her opinions and cooperative and timely in completing the interview! You can contact Erika at her Facebook page (click here). Remember to be polite and understanding that she has a life outside of Endurance!
