I know this is a subjective opinion, but what I've heard is that E3 was the best season. What do you think?

It's not my personal favorite. But that being said, I think it is the "best" season. It has the best characters, great missions (maybe not the best though), the best storylines, and some pretty great twists. If I recommend Endurance to someone, I always tell them to watch Hawaii first.

I do think it is the best season. Endurance one was the first one. It was fresh and no one knew what to do because they didn't previously watch it.
Endurance two is good, but not totally awesome. Yes, it has people like Keetin, Max and Christa, but I think Annie and Scooter kind of bring it down a bit with their scheming.
Season three sees the show really hit it's stride. The constant rain, Vanetta's injury, Monroe being the "super fan", gray team going all the way.
...and I think part of why season three is so great is because season four doesn't live up to it.
Season five reclaims some of what season four didn't have..
...season six is just plain different and I think it's because of the way it was filmed. If you look, they use the photos of the teams after they win missions and it's just a whole different way of filming.

Overall, everything on E3, I think, are the benchmarks of what Endurance is based on.
The Villain everybody loves to Hate, Nicole E3, is what everyone compares antagonists to. From Sabrina E1 to Cealey E5, people wonder "how evil are they?"
There's the underdog in E3 Yellow, who entered Endurance lore. Many other teams are similar with their general stories, like E5 Blue or E2 Orange, but Monroe and Bryanah are the epitome of struggle and victory. I bet a lot of you wanted them to win.
Finally, are those moments you see. The fights between Willa and Antonio and Nicole and Damien are amazing, only surpassed by Isaac and Jeszie's in E4. The upset missions make you think of Green's win in "House of Cards" or Orange's win in "Aqueduct" (E1 and E2 respectively).
While it might not be my favorite season (or yours), E3 was the height of Endurance.

My favorite seasons would have to be E2 and E3.
I like E2 because it featured Jacquelynn, the girl every guy wanted, and Scooter, the man with a plan, and Michelle, the true underdog story.
E3 pretty much had everything, villians, heartbreak, triumph, etc.

E2: Scooter made it somewhat interesting, Annie, not so much. Her treatment of Calley (or vice versa) didn't help her either. E3: See above E4: I think season 4 was not fully appreciated because it had so little drama. However, they had a good final three. E5: E3 and then some. Including the breaking of the Temple Curse. E6: Radicalized version of Endurance. Hard to keep up!

E4 is very underappreciated to me. I thought they had a very strong cast. It came after the drama-filled E3, so people were expecting a lot, and disappointed when it didn't deliver on the drama front. However, the cast as a whole was very endearing, even the "villains" like Jeszie and I'd even venture to say Michael was a likable guy (especially at first, with Daniela). You could see everyone had a strong bond and they had a lot of internal struggles with voting each other off, and there was a lot of growth of the contestants (Purple team being a prime example, but Green learning to work with each other's differences, Erika getting Franke to believe in himself, Blue team going farther than anyone expected, etc.) So it wasn't filled to the top with drama but I've always really enjoyed E4

Looking back on this board, five years later, I do think, objectively, E3 was the best season of Endurance. I think the location was great, in terms on how intense it was. Behind the scenes, there was a bunch of challenges getting this season off the ground; the fact it didn't fail was good enough!
I thought the twenty contestants were great in terms of the storylines--from the funny, energetic Monroe to the sly Chris; from the villainous Nicole to the chill Bryanah. Even those who were kicked off early had strong prences, from Taylor to Willa to Alex (I love the latter, haha). The drama which emerged, while petty, was a large drawing point.
The missions were pretty good. I thought E3 had the best Partner Selection and had a notable RTS mission. There were also fun missions such as Ring of Fire, Out on a Limb, and I'm Pulling for You.
However, what weakens this season, was how anticlimatic the finale was. Of course, no matter whom stayed between Gray and Purple, they would give the latter their pieces. This was further exacerbated by Orange joining them in the finale; considering that their teamwork in Float Your Boat was...mediocre, it made it even more so.
Subjectively, I love all of the first three seasons equally.
