Because this type of board for this season doesn't exist yet, haha.
After watching more closely I'm like, why does Blue have such a reputation for being so weak? I mean, they may not have been the strongest team or anything but they did have the early lead in Sand Bar Relay, were the last team to be eliminated in Box Launch, came in second place in Fish Food (despite everyone saying that Orange almost won), had another early lead + nearly won Island Hopping, plus Ben won the matching game at final four. Even though they rarely ~actually~ won anything, they had kind of a 'kings of second place' vibe going and I think their ability to perform was underrated by both the contestants AND the way the show was edited. The episodes never highlighted how close Blue came to winning a lot of the challenges, but it's there if you're paying attention.

I must say that I'd never noticed. I guess I just kind of noticed how they never ACTUALLY won.

This is interesting. I feel like I was just like everyone else and overlooked them. I never noticed if they were actually close to winning or not

This is so true!! I loved E6 Blue but everyone always had different feelings because they never really won anything. They were always really close and only really had one or two "off" missions where they performed poorly.

Rewatching E6 now. On episode 2.
Man, Cinnamon and Becca would’ve been SUCH great additions to the game. Forever salty we were robbed of that original twist.
I forgot that most people did so... badly in the partner mission?? Like it was 4 coconuts... it can’t be that hard to remember (*cough* Caleb and Leslie). I think Will and Jonathan just saw the color wrong (that Blue DID look Purple) but props to Kyle for getting second place. I forgot about that and I underestimated him.
Okay, I kind of love Briana?? Like I can see why she was so upset. For one, I don’t think she and Kyle are a good match. I mean, we the viewers can see that so imagine living on that beach with them. Anyone can see that. So she has a right to be a little ticked that she basically got forced to be with him. Second, again HANNAH was the one who came and instigated drama with her!! Briana was just sitting in her bunk and Hannah came storming in looking for a fight. And then I felt really bad about how Briana just started crying. It really looked like everyone turned their back on her. Granted, I do think she could have been nicer about how she phrased the way she didn’t think Kyle was a good partner for her, and I also think she could’ve put more effort into talking to him ESPECIALLY once she (should’ve) figured out they were gonna be paired. She said “I can’t talk to anyone, because if I talk to Lauren she’s gonna tell Hannah and I can’t talk to my partner because I don’t know him!” I would say.... try and get to know him. Even if it doesn’t seem like y’all click she should’ve put in more effort. But overall it seemed like the whole cast kind of ganged up on her... E5 vibes.

Episode 3 -Okay, I kind of really like Kyle?? I really underestimated him as a partner. He's really supportive of Briana and seems intuitive to the social dynamics of the game. Briana still... isn't giving him the best chance it looks like but she's at least attempting to work with him. I feel like she just... wasn't the best at socializing. If that makes sense. She almost is a bit awkward with everyone. That being said, I still love her tbh. But Kyle's quote "Yellow team isn't, you know... one of the most popular teams" is just ugh. Again, Endurance has turned into a popularity contest where Yellow is persecuted just for not being in the "in crowd". -JD's questions are just like... really pointed?? Is it just especially so this season or is it always like this? Like, after the whole Briana/Hannah argument he seemingly "randomly" singles Briana out for "looking upset" about Kyle being her partner then "randomly" asks Hannah if Briana is actually homesick. Then after Green and Orange make their alliance he "randomly" asks Leslie if there's any alliances. Like can you not be any more obvious? -I forgot Jonathan has such a country accent lol -Lmaooo at the producers realizing that Sand Bar Relay was wayyy too hard of a challenge midway through "umm new rule you can start grabbing two at a time" -Will and Leslie are just unfairly strong together. -Magic Box was a good prize to win just... I don't see why they needed a whole mission to determine who wins a free round at Temple. Like it wasn't an important enough prize for the whole mission to just be worth that prize only. -Green's fake prize was not believable at all. Smh. I bet Will's non-Endurance-watching self came up with that. But then again everyone bought it so whatever. -Three episodes in and Blue has received ZERO screen time

My favorite part is when Will goes "That's what it actually is." LIKE LMAOOO ARE YOU EVEN TRYING? I think it would've been believable except for the fact that JD never mentioned it during temple selection. Also, his questions were definitely more pointed this season. And I would actually arguably prefer the Mana Kisi reward over a samadhi to hand out

Episode 4: -hint as to maybe why this season isn't that great?? We get little to no screentime of the contestants hanging out and interacting. JD tells them to have an entire day to think about who gets an advantage and we get a 30 second conversation right after he leaves. And then it's the next morning and they've chosen Blue. Like can we get some footage of them actually trying to figure it out? -lol @ the improvisation of this season. "Shoot we were supposed to have 8 teams and now we only have 6 but we still have 14 pieces. Quick, get the kids to vote on who should get an extra piece. You get a piece, you get a piece, everyone gets a piece!!" -I do like how they didn't jump into a Temple mission straight from the Mana Kisi mission. -Why does everyone automatically want to send Blue up to Temple now that they have 2 pieces? Like maybe if they had 5 pieces or something... but this was literally the first opportunity in the game to earn a piece lmao getting gifted a piece doesn't make them a threat -Green team is the only one doing any strategizing smh. Caleb literally said their strategy is to "fly right behind Green team" aka ride their coattails. Leslie is actually a really great player, but this has to be one of the most unlikable alliances in Endurance history -How do they make Samadhis??? -Blind Faith is cute. Not a super memorable mission but I don't hate it -Purple doing this mission is so hilarious I LOVE THEM. Jackie screaming her head off and Connor being like "idk what you saying". Wtf was Kyle doing??? He was at one basket like the whole time like there's only six little figurines... wyd... And then Briana "Kyle go left! No, right! Straight, left, left, right!" *Kyle literally standing in one spot spinning around* -Orange LOVES to bring up this alliance with Green. Like in every interview. "We talked to the Green team about who to give the Samadhi to.. ya know, since we're in an alliance " -I don't understand this alliance logic. Lauren tells Hannah "We are basically in an alliance but it's not official. So if someone asks you if you have an alliance you can say no." How is it "not official" just cause you say it is? -Ugh I'm trying to like Green but I just can't. Caleb, Kyle, and Leslie are talking and Kyle is asking about the Samadhi and Caleb is just giving noncommittal answers while leading Kyle to believe he won't get the Samadhi and Leslie is just sitting there smiling and giggling to herself. So annoying. YELLOW 4EVER -How is choosing a team to automatically go to Temple an easier decision than choosing a team to give the Samadhi to?? Why did JD act like that was such a deal lmao -The crazy thing is Orange actually CHOOSES TO SEND YELLOW TO TEMPLE. Another strike against me liking the Green/Orange alliance. Especially when apparently Caleb/Kyle were friends and Lauren and Briana were "besties". I would be mad AS FUDGEEEE if I were them. They were so mistreated this season. Briana's "I think there's bigger threats than us" YOU TELL EM! Yellow wasn't winning anything over Red and Green (hello they JUST performed the WORST in that Endurance mission and did not impress in Sand Bar Relay) and they wouldn't have sent YOU, Orange team. Again, bad strategy on Orange's part because if they REALLY thought Yellow was a threat and didn't want them to win, then they would have HANDICAPPED them for the Temple mission. Because now Yellow goes into the Temple mission with an equal playing field and has the opportunity to win... and choose Orange to go to Temple with them! -Briana is soooo sweet I love her. She's just kinda shy and flower child. She had like 30 seconds of sass and everyone decided to hate her

Episode 5:
-Briana lowkey gives me Bryanah vibes... *walks up to Lauren* "At least the Samadhi would've given us a chance..." *Lauren just stands there looking dumb not saying anything cause she know she ain't got nothing to say!* and then "I just want to know why you sent us" "Because.... you're a strong team" "Blue has two pieces, Red and Green have both outperformed us in the missions..." *silence again from Lauren* and then "I just don't want to go home this early" "I don't want you to go home either!" "Then you should've given me the Samadhi! At least I had a chance to stay" *silence AGAIN from Lauren* -Does Lauren like hate Kyle or something??? Is that the reason? "Now she knows that Kyle is a big influence on my decision". Meanwhile Caleb is literally crying and apologizing to Kyle... I knew I actually liked him for a reason. -PURPLE DOMINATION IN BOX LAUNCH!!! We stan teamwork!! -Blue got second... but not because they actually did anything... in fact they were kind of terrible at the entire premise of the mission, but I guess they're so under the radar that no one wanted to target them -d**n we get like zero strategy conversation from Red. Literally "I want to send Purple" "But I want to send Blue" and that's it. -Purple vs. Yellow Temple </3 -I don't understand the strategy in this game lmaooo. The only two teams that have won prior to this are Green and Orange. But Purple is the strongest team? Um what. Lol -I lowkey skip Temple of Fates when I rewatch now... number one, I know who goes home already so it's not suspenseful and number two, it's basically the same thing each time. So without the suspense of not knowing the outcome it's kind of irrelevant for me to watch -"The other team will get back on the plane immediately" Uhhh probably not. How many plane rides out of Fiji are there a day lol -Briana, you made me a stan on this rewatch. YELLOW E6 ALL THE WAY BABY! -Temple comebacks have to be one of my favorite Endurance traditions

Episode 5: -Briana lowkey gives me Bryanah vibes... *walks up to Lauren* "At least the Samadhi would've given us a chance..." *Lauren just stands there looking dumb not saying anything cause she know she ain't got nothing to say!* lololol I'm dead. Lauren was probably one of the worst strategizers ever. She always spoke like she knew what she was doing but nothing she ever said ACTUALLY made sense because her every decision was only because "it's what Green would do". Since she believed Will & Leslie were like Endurance gods™ she FELT like she was playing the game smart by aligning with them, making the same choices as them, etc. but in reality..... she just never thought critically about anything so she didn't understand WHY she was doing these things.

While I agree that Lauren followed Green too much, I don't think it was bad strategy to automatically send a team to temple instead of giving them a Samadhi, when given the option, especially on the spot as happened to Orange.
The problem is that the handicaps that have to be dealt with due to getting a Samadhi vary so widely. On the really difficult end, you have the "you must sit out of the temple mission" Samadhis, like E1 Squeeze Play, E3 Balance Ball, and de facto E4 Cubed. On the really easy end, you have an extremely short time penalty (E1 Dial In) or a distance penalty that is short compared to the size of the mission (E3 Bagging on You, E5 Fill er' Up). In this case, of course Orange did not know what the temple mission was going to be, but I expect that the Samadhi would have made the team that got it start with either 1 or 2 coconuts already in their basket in Box Launch. There's a small chance that instead, the team that got the Samadhi would have had to have made all their throws from a slightly farther distance (maybe just behind the mat instead of on the mat in front of each basket). The clarity of hindsight is 20/20, but either of these penalties would have been closer to the easier end.
So the upside of guaranteeing a team got sent to temple was that the variance of the Samadhi could be avoided, and also that only one other team besides Yellow would get sent to temple. Despite Briana saying that she thought J.D. was wrong when he said he thought he knew who Yellow would pick to go with them if they won, it's probably not wrong to figure that if Yellow had won, they would have picked Orange to go with them. Orange obviously would have been on Yellow's hit list either way - if Yellow had won with the Samadhi or with the guaranteed trip to temple. But what if Blue or Purple had won Box Launch instead of Red? Depending on how convinced they were by Green's (bad) lie, I think Blue or Purple might have picked Red to go with Yellow. In the alternate scenario in which Blue or Purple wins and Yellow hasn't been guaranteed to go to temple, I think either of those teams probably selects Red and Orange, unless they still disliked Yellow enough to send Yellow anyway.
Obviously I'm speculating a ton, but it does seem like making sure Yellow went to temple made it at least slightly less likely that Orange would have to go to temple that round. Although we didn't get to hear E4 Kylie talk much about Orange's strategy in immediately targeting Purple at the F5 in Fireball, I think the logic there was the same: that is, by guaranteeing that another team is going to temple, you decrease the odds that your team will have to go.

I do see what you’re saying, but I don’t give a 14-year-old (or 15 idk) Lauren the credit for that strategy. I feel like she just sent Yellow cause everyone wanted them gone, lol

Seeing this thread, I should probably attempt to watch E6 again, as much as I disliked it compared to the previous 5 seasons. Maybe a rewatch makes it better?

I’m critical of it because it’s certainly not the quality of the previous five seasons, but it’s not bad. It’s still a solid show. Like, for the worst Endurance season, it’s still a good show.

Oh I agree with the decision to send a team to temple instead of the samadhi; ruthless but effective. I was referring to Lauren’s gameplay as a whole, not specifically this episode - also, I still don’t think it made any sense strategically to choose Yellow. crystalclearhawaii Honestly I’ve always liked E6 better than most. So of course I would say watch it, though you may not enjoy it as much as I generally do haha
